Saying #25 — “Protect the Perishing — Rescue”
📖 Proverbs 24:11–12
“Deliver those who are being taken away to death,And those who are staggering to slaughter, O hold them back.If you say, ‘See, we did not know this,’Does He not consider it who weighs the hearts?”
🌿 INTRODUCTION — The Call to Step In
Women of Wisdom, Saying #25 is a wake-up call.
It reminds us that God does not save us to stand aside—
He saves us to stand in the gap.
This Saying is about courage, compassion, and responsibility.
It tells us that when someone is slipping, stumbling, or sinking,
we do not get to look away and call it “none of my business.”
Lady Wisdom urges us:
“If you can help, you must.
If you can speak, speak.
If you can pray, pray.
If you can rescue, do not remain silent.”
This is the heartbeat of every godly woman:
to see, to care, and to act.
🌼 MEANING OF THE SAYING
⭐ 1. “Deliver those who are being taken away to death…”
This includes people spiritually drifting, emotionally collapsing, morally slipping, or mentally overwhelmed.
Sometimes they’re not rebellious — they’re weak, tired, or lost.
⭐ 2. “Hold them back…”
Don’t watch them fall.
Don’t stay silent about danger.
Stand between them and destruction — in prayer, in love, in truth.
⭐ 3. “If you say, ‘We did not know’…”
God sees the heart.
He knows when we avoid responsibility because it feels inconvenient.
⭐ 4. The deeper message:
God calls wise women to be rescuers — not bystanders.
Lady Wisdom gathers four women in a bright room with four open doors.
Each door leads to someone in need.
💚 Woman 1 — The Door of Discouragement
She sees a friend fading in silence.
“At first, I didn’t want to intrude…”
Lady Wisdom replies:
“Sometimes rescuing begins with a gentle check-in.”
💙 Woman 2 — The Door of Confusion
She sees someone making poor decisions.
“I don’t want to seem judgmental…”
Lady Wisdom answers:
“Correction with compassion is an act of rescue.”
💛 Woman 3 — The Door of Distraction
She sees a sister drifting into unhealthy company.
“I thought she was fine — she always looks happy.”
Lady Wisdom says:
“Joyful people need rescuing too. Look deeper.”
❤️ Woman 4 — The Door of Danger
She sees a woman rushing into destructive habits.
“I didn’t want conflict…”
Lady Wisdom stands firm:
“Love steps in, even when courage is costly.”
The four women return to the room, and Lady Wisdom declares:
“If God shows you a need,
it is because He has already placed rescue in your hands.”
🌷 REFLECTION THOUGHTS
Ask yourself:
💚 Who in my circle might be silently struggling?
💙 Is there someone I should lovingly check on?
💛 Have I overlooked someone because they appear “fine”?
❤️ Is there a hard conversation God wants me to approach with courage?

Good morning Wisdom Seekers!
ReplyDeleteThis truly was a good reminder about speaking up and protecting the perishing. The line that stood out to me was: "“If God shows you a need, it is because He has already placed rescue in your hands.” I was also encouraged to not overlook those who appear 'fine' - I know for myself, I've been in that situation and this proverb reminds me to not d that to others.
Have a blessed day~

ReplyDeleteSayings of the Wise - #25 — “Protect the Perishing — Rescue”- (Prov. 24:11–12)
The entire scenario stood out to me
What I gathered from this is that while it may be easy to ignore the plight of others , God sees all he weighs the heart and he will hold people accountable for their inactions , this Scripture came to mind as I wrote . Proverbs 27:23
Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds".
And here I thought about you sister Gale and Pastor Penny , how beautiful it is to see that you are wholeheartedly ensuring that your flock is safe, flock here being myself and others I can say ..
I can go on to say that we are instructed to intervene and save those who are being led to destruction .
WOMAN 4 — THE DOOR OF DANGER
She sees a woman rushing into destructive habits. “I didn’t want conflict…” Lady Wisdom stands firm:
“Love steps in, even when courage is costly.”

"Sometimes rescuing begins with a gentle check-in.”
I really wished i had read this at the start of my day today as i believed
someone i crossed path today on transit would have benefited
from a gentle check-in from me, but i walk away feeling convicted😒
