Sayings of the Wise - #23 — Do Not Devise Evil Schemes - (Prov. 24:8–9)

🌸 Saying #23 — Do Not Devise Evil Schemes

πŸ“– Proverbs 24:8–9

“One who plans to do evil will be called a schemer.
The devising of folly is sin,
and the scoffer is an abomination to men.”

🌿 INTRODUCTION — The Hidden Danger of Quiet Schemes

Women of Wisdom, today Lady Wisdom leads us into the quiet corridors of the heart —
the places where intentions form, where thoughts take shape, and where small seeds become actions.

Saying #23 reminds us that sin doesn’t begin at the hands — it begins in the heart and mind.
Before evil is done, it is devised.
Before destruction is visible, it is imagined.

God calls us to keep our hearts clean not only from actions,
but from the little inward plans that do us harm:

  • silent bitterness
  • quiet revenge
  • secret comparisons
  • unspoken resentment
  • ehearsed arguments
  • subtle manipulation

Lady Wisdom whispers,

“Cut the root before it becomes the fruit.”

🌼 MEANING OF THE SAYING

 1. “One who plans to do evil will be called a schemer.”

A “schemer” isn’t always dramatic — sometimes she is subtle, wounded, or defensive.
Schemes start small:

  • I’ll show her.

  • I won’t forgive him this time.

  • I hope she fails.

Wisdom calls us to the opposite spirit — purity of intention.

 2. “The devising of folly is sin.”

God sees not only our actions but our meditations.
What we plot secretly eventually shapes our behavior.

 3. “The scoffer is an abomination.”

A scoffer mocks righteousness, looks down on others, and laughs at correction.
Her influence destroys unity.

Saying #23 teaches us to guard our inner life long before our outer life crumbles.

Lady Wisdom walks with four women through a garden.

Each woman carries a small seed.

πŸ’š Woman 1 (Phlegmatic)

She rolls her seed gently between her fingers.
“I avoid conflict, but sometimes I hold quiet resentment.”
Lady Wisdom replies,

“Even silent bitterness grows weeds. Pull it up early.”

πŸ’™ Woman 2 (Melancholic)

She studies her seed carefully.
“Sometimes I rehearse offenses in my mind. I water them by overthinking.”
Lady Wisdom says,

“What you meditate on becomes your harvest. Choose thoughts that heal.”

πŸ’› Woman 3 (Sanguine)

She laughs, yet her seed trembles in her hand.
“I don’t mean harm, but sometimes I exaggerate or gossip without thinking.”
Lady Wisdom touches her shoulder,

“Careless words plant painful seeds. Speak life, and joy will grow.”

❤️ Woman 4 (Choleric)

She holds her seed firmly.
“When someone hurts me, I imagine how to put them in their place.”
Lady Wisdom looks into her eyes,

“Strength is safest when surrendered. Forgiveness frees the strong.”

The women drop their seeds at Lady Wisdom’s feet.
She plants new ones in their hands:

Purity. Peace. Patience. Healing.

🌷 REFLECTION THOUGHTS

Ask yourself:

πŸ’š Is there someone I’m quietly resenting?
πŸ’™ Is there a thought I’ve been rehearsing that I need to release?
πŸ’› Have I allowed careless words to plant careless seeds?
❤️ Am I planning responses instead of pursuing restoration?

🌿 CLOSING ENCOURAGEMENT

Women of Wisdom,
your heart is a garden —
what grows there today will bloom in the seasons to come.

Saying #23 calls you to uproot the quiet schemes
and plant thoughts that honour God and protect your peace.

“Lord, cleanse my intentions.
Purify my thoughts.
Let my heart devise wisdom, not folly.”

Walk in purity today, dear sisters.
Walk with clean hands, clear thoughts, and a heart full of peace. πŸŒΈπŸ’–

    Good Morning Everyone,
    Happy Saturday!!

Sayings of the Wise – #23
Do Not Devise Evil Schemes — (Proverbs 24:8–9)

Thank you Lady Wisdom. I will keep this as my mantra: “Cut the root before it becomes the fruit.”

This is what stood out to me from today’s blog post:
⭐ 2. “The devising of folly is sin.”
God sees not only our actions but also our meditations.
What we plot secretly eventually shapes our behavior.

Knowing that God sees the meditations of my heart causes me to be so mindful of what I allow myself to dwell on. This is why the psalmist prayed, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight.”

Thank you, Sister Penny. These sayings are truly LIFE-CHANGING.

    Have A Wonderful Day Sisters

Sometimes the mind says speaking out will let others know how you feel. This lesson shows that there is great strength in giving it all to God.

    Good morning everyone,

What stood out to me from this post is the notion that "sin doesn’t begin at the hands — it begins in the heart and mind. Before evil is done, it is devised. Before destruction is visible, it is imagined."

It was a great reminder to pull up seeds of bitterness before they grow into resentment, which ultimately will affect my behaviour and interactions with others.

Hope you have a great day :)
