📖 Weekly Bible Journey | Days 102–108

April 12 – April 18

READ: Joshua 19–24; Judges 1–8 | Acts 13–19 | Psalm 102–108

💬 Gentle Encouragement

This week invites us to stay anchored in God’s faithfulness even as seasons change.

Some chapters will show closure. Others will show struggle.
But the Lord remains the same through both.

Pray as you read:
“Lord, keep my heart steady and teach me to walk faithfully with You.”

🌿 Weekly Overview

This week begins with the closing chapters of Joshua and then moves into the opening chapters of Judges. In Joshua 19–24, the land is allotted, Joshua gives his final charge, and the people are urged to choose whom they will serve. Then Judges 1–8 begins, and we quickly see the struggle that comes when God’s people drift from wholehearted obedience. Yet even there, God raises up deliverers in mercy.

In Acts 13–19, the gospel continues to spread through Paul’s missionary journeys. These chapters are full of preaching, opposition, miracles, conversions, and the steady advance of the message of Christ into new regions.

The Psalms (102–108) move through prayer, praise, remembrance, and confidence in God’s covenant love. They help steady the heart and keep our attention fixed on the Lord.

A–Z PRAISES TO GOD

A Journey Through the Attributes of God in Prayer

A Spring and Summer Journey Through the Attributes of God
Learning who He is and praising Him in prayer

Week 2 — B: Benevolent (Good)

Warm greetings, dear sisters.

Thank you for studying Week 1 — Almighty with us. It was a blessing to reflect on God’s power and to be reminded that nothing is too hard for Him. It has truly been a timely study!  I pray that truth continues to steady our hearts this week as we continue to praise the Lord despite life's circumstances because we know that God is good.

As we continue, let us move forward gently and consistently. There is no pressure to do everything perfectly—just come with an open heart. Whether you are continuing from last week or joining us for the first time, you are warmly welcome.

How to Use This Study

This study is meant to help you spend meaningful time with God, not to feel heavy or burdensome. You are welcome to use it in the way that best fits your schedule and season.

You may choose to follow the suggested weekly flow and move through it little by little during the week. You may begin on another day if Sunday or Monday does not work well for you. Or, if you prefer, you may set aside about an hour and do the full study in one sitting.

The day breakdown is simply there to give structure and make the study feel more manageable. Please feel free to use it in the way that helps you draw near to the Lord most sincerely.

You may also wish to consider setting aside one day each week to fast, as you are able, and use that week’s PROMPTS study as your guide during your time with the Lord. This is completely optional, but it can be a beautiful way to slow down, focus your heart, meditate on His Word, and praise Him more intentionally.

Whether you spread it out through the week, complete it in one sitting, or use it during a fast day, let this study serve as a guide to help you know God more, honour Him more, and praise Him more personally.

Take your time with each section. There is no need to rush. Let each truth lead you into praise, prayer, and reflection.

B — Benevolent (Good)

“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; how blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!” — Psalm 34:8

Focus for this week:
Recognizing, trusting, and resting in the goodness of God.

SUNDAY OR MONDAY

P — Prayer

As you settle down each day to begin this study, take a moment to ask the Lord to open your heart to see Him clearly and to respond to Him sincerely. Ask Him to help you know Him as He truly is, to set aside distractions, and to come before Him with discipline and reverence. These are simply suggestions—feel free to speak to the Lord from your heart as He leads you.

You are coming before the good and gracious God—who cares for you and provides for you.

R — Read (Suggestion: memorize these verses. Read them aloud 2–3 times and return to them throughout the day.)

“Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good…” — Psalm 34:8

“Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above…” — James 1:17

This Week's Proverbs:
“The blessing of the Lord makes rich, and He adds no sorrow to it.” — Proverbs 10:22

O — Observe

This psalm was written by David after experiencing God’s deliverance.

  • God’s goodness is not just to be heard about, but experienced
  • “Taste and see” invites personal encounter
  • God’s goodness is connected with refuge and trust
  • Blessing is found in depending on Him

Let’s pray:

Lord, thank You for Your goodness. Help me to see it, trust it, and rest in it today. Amen.

That is enough for today. Continue tomorrow, God willing.

TUESDAY–THURSDAY

M — Meaning

Good / Benevolent (Hebrew: tov)

  • Good, pleasant, beneficial, kind
  • That which is morally right and life-giving

Meaning:
God is consistently good in His nature. Everything He does flows from His goodness.

Commentary Insight:
Matthew Henry notes that God’s goodness is not only to be spoken of, but experienced—those who trust Him will find Him to be all that He has promised.

P — Practice (Personal Application)

🕊️ Now respond with praise:
“Lord, I love You because You are good.
I honour You because everything You do is right and kind.
You are good in every season of my life.
Your goodness surrounds me, even when I do not always see it.
I praise You because Your goodness never changes.”

Continue in your own words:
Take a moment and continue to praise God for being good.

  • Thank Him for specific ways He has been good to you (name them to Him)
  • Tell Him where you need to trust His goodness
  • Declare your confidence in His goodness, even in difficult situations
  • Surrender any doubt or struggle you may have in believing He is good

Personal Application:
Where do you need to trust God’s goodness in your life today?
Place that situation before Him.

You may pray:
“Lord, I trust Your goodness in ________. Help me to rest in who You are.”

Look for this today:
Where do you see evidence of God’s goodness—big or small?

Closing Prayer (Optional):
Lord, help me to trust Your goodness in every situation. Open my eyes to see Your kindness at work in my life. Amen.

Continue tomorrow, God willing.

A–Z PRAISES TO GOD

A Journey Through the Attributes of God in Prayer

A Spring and Summer Journey Through the Attributes of God
Learning who He is and praising Him in prayer

Week 1 — A: Almighty

Warm greetings, dear sisters.

Welcome to the beginning of our A–Z Praises to God journey. I am so glad you are here.

As we step into this first week together, my prayer is that this will not simply be another study, but a meaningful time of drawing closer to the Lord—learning who He is and responding to Him in praise.

We begin with A — Almighty—a powerful reminder that nothing is too hard for God. Whatever you may be carrying, facing, or wondering about, He is able. (What a timely reminder.)

As you move through this week, take your time. There is no pressure to do everything perfectly. Come with an open heart, and allow the Lord to meet you where you are.

Whether you follow the suggested flow, complete it in one sitting, or return to it throughout the week, may this be a time of refreshing, strengthening, and deepening your relationship with Him.

Let us begin.

A — Almighty (El Shaddai)

“I am God Almighty; walk before Me and be blameless.” — Genesis 17:1

Focus for this week:
Seeing and trusting God as Almighty.

You are coming before the Almighty God—who sees you, knows you, and cares for you.

R — Read (Suggestion: memorize these verses. Read them aloud 2–3 times and return to them throughout the day.)

“I am God Almighty; walk before Me and be blameless.” — Genesis 17:1

“Ah Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You.” — Jeremiah 32:17

Today’s Proverbs:
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe.” — Proverbs 18:10

O — Observe

God appears to Abraham when he is 99 years old. The promise of a son has not yet been fulfilled, and Sarah is past childbearing age.

In this moment of human impossibility, God reveals Himself as El Shaddai—God Almighty, reaffirming His covenant and promising what only divine power can accomplish.

  • God reveals Himself in the middle of impossibility
  • His name speaks directly to Abraham’s situation
  • His power is connected to His promises

Let’s pray:

Lord, thank You for revealing Yourself to me as Almighty. Help me to remember today that nothing is too hard for You. Teach me to trust You in every situation. Amen.

That is enough for today. Continue tomorrow, God willing.

TUESDAY–THURSDAY

M — Meaning

El Shaddai

  • El = God, the Mighty One
  • Shaddai = Almighty, All-sufficient, All-powerful

Meaning:
God is more than enough—able to supply, sustain, and accomplish what no one else can.

Commentary Insight:
Matthew Henry notes that God reveals Himself as Almighty to assure Abraham that He is fully able to fulfill His promises.

A helpful summary from biblical commentary is that by the name “God Almighty,” God reveals Himself as the One who is fully able to carry out His promises despite all human impossibilities.

P — Practice (Personal Application)

🕊️ Now respond with praise:
“Lord, I love You because You are Almighty.
I honour You because nothing is too hard for You.
You are powerful over every situation, seen and unseen.
There is no limit to what You can do, and nothing can stand against Your will.
I praise You because You are greater than every challenge I face, and I can rest in Your power.
You are more than enough in every area of my life.”

Continue in your own words:
Take a moment and continue to praise God for being Almighty.

  • Tell Him why this matters to you
  • Tell Him where you need His power
  • Tell Him how you trust Him in your life
  • Thank Him for times He has already shown His power to you (name them to Him)
  • Declare your confidence in Him over what you are facing (name those situations to Him)
  • Surrender anything that feels impossible to you (name it to Him)

Personal Application:
Where do you need God’s power in your life today?
Place that situation in His hands.

You may pray:
“Lord, I trust You with ________. I place it in Your hands because You are Almighty.”

Look for this today:
Where do you see God’s power at work—big or small?

Closing Prayer (Optional):
Lord, help me to trust Your power and rest in Your promises. Strengthen my faith where I feel weak, and teach me to depend on You in all things. Amen.

Continue tomorrow, God willing.

FRIDAY–SATURDAY

T — Thanksgiving

As you come to this time of thanksgiving, take a moment to thank the Lord for being Almighty. Thank Him that nothing in your life is beyond His power. Thank Him for the ways He has already shown Himself strong on your behalf. These are simply suggestions—feel free to thank Him in your own words for whatever is on your heart.

S — Share (Below on this blog)

Type or copy and paste one of the options below, or share your own:

  • Today I praise God because He is Almighty.
  • Today I honour God as the Almighty One.
  • Today I bless God because nothing is too hard for Him.
  • Today I worship God for His mighty power.
  • Today I thank God that He is more than enough for me.

(Optional:)
You may also share what you are trusting Him with:
I trust Him with ________.

Even a simple expression of trust is meaningful.

Conclusion

Speak It Back to God Prayerfully

“You are Almighty, Lord. Nothing is too hard for You.”
— Jeremiah 32:17

Say it slowly. Say it again. Let it settle in your heart.

Pause and Listen

Be still for a few moments and allow the Lord to minister to your heart.

Remember as you go…

March 22 Bible Reading and Proverbs Reflections: Listening to God with Wisdom

Fasting Week 1 — Listening to God with Wisdom

Warm greetings, dear sisters, and thank you for your participation last week. It was a blessing to journey together, and I pray the Lord continues to deepen His work in each of our hearts.

Women of Wisdom, as you move through this fasting week, remember that the goal is not simply to finish readings or endure hunger. The invitation is deeper: to become more teachable, more attentive, more obedient, and more tender toward the voice of God. Our listening theme beautifully reminds us that wisdom grows where hearts stay humble, responsive, and watchful before the Lord.

Take this week one day at a time. Resist the urge to rush. Let Deuteronomy call you to wholehearted obedience, let John draw you close to Jesus, and let the Psalms teach your heart how to pray in every condition. And seriously meditate on the daily Proverbs verse(s) shared.

This week’s journey takes us through Deuteronomy 10–23, where Moses calls God’s people to love and obey Him wholeheartedly; John 13–19, where Jesus loves, serves, prays, suffers, and gives Himself for us; and Psalms 81–87, which help shape our prayers and posture before the Lord.

📖 This Week’s Reading

📖 Day 81 — March 22

Reading: Deut. 10–11 | John 13 | Psalm 81
Proverbs Focus: Proverbs 1:5

Today’s Old Testament reading calls us to fear the Lord, love Him, and serve Him with all our heart. In John 13, Jesus washes the disciples’ feet and shows us that true greatness is clothed in humility. Psalm 81 reminds us that God longs for His people to listen to Him and walk in His ways.

Listening with wisdom:
“Let the wise hear and increase in learning…” (Prov. 1:5)

As the fast begins, ask the Lord for a teachable heart. Do not enter these days trying to prove strength. Enter them ready to listen.

👉 Pause here for today. Let the Lord speak before moving on to tomorrow’s reading.

💬 Before you go, share one word or short thought in the WhatsApp chat that could encourage the group as we begin this fast together.

📖 Day 82 — March 23

Reading: Deut. 12–13 | John 14 | Psalm 82
Proverbs Focus: Proverbs 2:1–2

In Deuteronomy, God’s people are taught to worship Him rightly and avoid competing voices. In John 14, Jesus comforts troubled hearts and reminds us that He is the way, the truth, and the life. Psalm 82 reminds us that God sees injustice and calls for righteousness.

Listening with wisdom:
“Make your ear attentive to wisdom, incline your heart to understanding.” (Prov. 2:2)

Fasting helps quiet the inner noise. Let today be a day to slow down, listen carefully, and lean in for understanding.

👉 Pause here for today. Sit with what you have read, and come back tomorrow, God willing.

💬 Before you go, post a short Scripture or phrase in the WhatsApp chat that could strengthen the group today.

📖 Day 83 — March 24

Reading: Deut. 14–15 | John 15 | Psalm 83
Proverbs Focus: Proverbs 3:5

Deuteronomy points us toward holy and compassionate living. John 15 calls us to abide in Christ, remain in His love, and bear fruit that lasts. Psalm 83 is a prayer rising from pressure and opposition.

Listening with wisdom:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.” (Prov. 3:5)

As you fast, do not only hear words—yield your understanding to God. Abiding is not rushing. It is staying near enough to hear and trust Him.

👉 Pause here for today. Let the Word settle deeply before reading ahead.

💬 Before you go, share a brief from-the-heart thought in the WhatsApp chat that may encourage the ladies as we continue.

📖 Day 84 — March 25

Reading: Deut. 16–17 | John 16 | Psalm 84
Proverbs Focus: Proverbs 4:20

These chapters in Deuteronomy emphasize justice, leadership, and living rightly before God. John 16 reminds us that sorrow is not the end and that the Spirit will guide us into truth. Psalm 84 stirs longing for God’s presence and the beauty of dwelling near Him.

Listening with wisdom:
“My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings.” (Prov. 4:20)

Fasting creates room to listen beneath the surface. Ask God to help you hear not just information, but His direction, His timing, and His heart.

👉 Pause here for today. Linger in His presence and continue tomorrow, God willing.

💬 Before you go, leave a line of encouragement in the WhatsApp chat for the group—something that helps us keep listening well.

📖 Day 85 — March 26

Reading: Deut. 18–19 | John 17 | Psalm 85
Proverbs Focus: Proverbs 8:34

Deuteronomy speaks about listening carefully to God’s appointed word and walking in justice. John 17 lets us overhear Jesus praying for His disciples and for all who would believe. Psalm 85 is a prayer for revival, mercy, and restored joy.

Listening with wisdom:
“Blessed is the one who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at my doorposts.” (Prov. 8:34)

What a picture for fasting: waiting, watching, listening, expecting. Position your heart daily before the Lord.

👉 Pause here for today. Carry this word prayerfully through the day.

💬 Before you go, post a verse, quote, or simple reminder in the WhatsApp chat that could lift the hearts of the group today.

📖 Day 86 — March 27

Reading: Deut. 20–21 | John 18 | Psalm 86
Proverbs Focus: Proverbs 10:17

In Deuteronomy, God instructs His people how to walk faithfully in difficult and weighty matters. John 18 brings us into the betrayal, arrest, and trial of Jesus. Psalm 86 is the cry of one who knows they need God’s mercy and help.

Listening with wisdom:
“He is on the path of life who heeds instruction…” (Prov. 10:17)

Fasting is not only about denying appetite; it is about receiving instruction. Let today be a day of surrender, where correction is welcomed and obedience is embraced.

👉 Pause here for today. Let obedience take root before moving ahead.

💬 Before you go, share a short word in the WhatsApp chat that could help strengthen the group to stay faithful in both Scripture and fasting.

📖 Day 87 — March 28

Reading: Deut. 22–23 | John 19 | Psalm 87
Proverbs Focus: Proverbs 12:15

Deuteronomy continues to shape God’s people in practical holiness. John 19 brings us to the cross, where the love of Christ is displayed in full. Psalm 87 speaks of Zion, the city of God, and the joy of belonging to Him.

Listening with wisdom:
“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise person listens to counsel.” (Prov. 12:15)

At the cross, we do not cling to our own way. We yield to God’s wisdom, God’s salvation, and God’s Son.

👉 Pause before posting below or on the chat.  Let the cross speak to you.

💬 Before you go, leave one closing encouragement in the WhatsApp chat for the group from your heart as we end this week together.
