ππ "Thinksgiving" – Reflecting & Thanking Together
Pastor Arp:
“Sisters, before we close, we’re going to combine two things — thinking about what we’ve learned and thanking God for it. We’ll call this time Thinksgiving. We’re going to look into the mirror of God’s Word, see where we are, use the map of His truth to know where we’re going, and then thank Him for every step He’s leading us to take.”
Part 1 – Mirror & Map (Thinking)
Pastor Arp:
“Let’s start with the mirror. I’ll read a question, you jot your answer in your journal. After a moment, I’ll invite a few to share aloud.”
What “old garment” do I still see hanging in my spiritual closet?
Debbie: “Holding grudges.”
Where in my life am I most tempted to slip back into old ways?
Tessie: “When I’m around negative people.”
Which verse today spoke most directly to me?
Hazel: “Verse 29 — about the words I speak.”
Pastor Arp:
“Now for the map — where we’re going.”
Which “new garment” do I need to put on first this week?
Maria: “Compassion.”
What’s one small action I can take in the next 24 hours to live this truth?
Cindy: “Send a kind message to someone I’ve avoided.”
Who needs to see Christ’s love through me right now?
Ann C.: “My struggling co-worker.”
Part 2 – Gratitude Response (Thanking)
Pastor Arp:
“Now let’s respond in gratitude. I’ll call out themes from today’s passage. If one hits home for you, speak a one-sentence thank you to God.”
Truth replacing lies
Alanda: “Thank You, Lord, for freeing me to speak the truth.”
Peace replacing anger
Theresa: “Thank You for helping me let go quickly.”
Generosity replacing selfishness
Debra: “Thank You for the joy that comes when I give.”
Encouragement replacing corrupt talk
Gale: “Thank You for showing me how my words can heal.”
Forgiveness replacing bitterness
Glenda: “Thank You for the freedom forgiveness brings.”
Closing Charge
Pastor Arp:
“Take one of your map answers and carry it into this week. Let it guide your steps. And each time you act on it, pause and thank God — that’s living in Thinksgiving all week long.”
π Sealing – Prayer of Commitment
Pastor Arp:
“Sisters, we’ve looked into the mirror of God’s Word, we’ve mapped out our next steps, and we’ve given thanks. Now let’s seal this in prayer — asking the Lord to write His truth so deeply on our hearts that we can’t help but live it out.”
Prayer:
“Lord, we thank You for the richness of Your Word in Ephesians 4:17–32. Today we have seen what to take off, how to be renewed, and what to put on in Christ. We’ve recognized the garments that no longer belong to us, and we’ve chosen the ones You’ve designed for us to wear.
Father, seal these truths in our hearts. Let Your Spirit remind us when we start to slip back into the old ways. Give us strength to put on the new self — truth, reconciliation, generosity, encouragement, kindness, and forgiveness. And Lord, let every step we take and every word we speak this week be evidence that Christ lives in us.
We trust You to finish the work You’ve started, and we walk forward in Your love and power. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Thinksgiving –
Reflecting & Thanking Together
Go Deep
My takeaway from Ephesians 4 was the blessing of walking through the book verse by verse. During that time, the Word truly came alive. I could clearly see what I needed to put off and what I needed to replace it with. I am now walking in the truth of who I am in Christ, while staying aware that the old self may try to resurface when I face certain situations.
Pastor Arp’s summary also impacted me. He reminded us that our spiritual wardrobe has changed—once we take off the old self, we cannot remain “spiritually naked.” Instead, we are called to put on the new self, clothed in Christ.
Finally, another truth that resonated deeply with me is the importance of renewing my mind daily. I never want to leave my prayer time without surrendering my thoughts to the Lordship of the Holy Spirit, inviting Him to take control of my mind and shape my walk.
YES! My heart is stirred to keep pressing on into chapter 5

The truth of Ephesians 4
Is called for us to live a life that is worthy of Gods calling .. We should live a life where our old self is put away and put on what is new ..
along with Ephesians 4 , Romans 12:12 clearly states that we Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. As Christian we should be growing in spritual maturity and have a desire that will help benefit others who may be falling on the way side ..
This lesson has taught me a great deal , because each day the same way his mercies are new every morning it’s the same way we should be putting on a new self that will reflect the life of Christ , are we gong to fall short Yes , we are required though to apply Gods word to our lives seeking restoration daily rather than vengeance.
Really Enjoyed this study .
πΊHappy Sunday all

One truth from Ephesians 4 that impacted me most is how Paul connects spiritual maturity with unity and love.
For me, the takeaway is this - True growth in Christ isn’t shown by how much I know, but by how I live with others—showing humility, patience, kindness, and forgiveness. When I choose love over pride or self-will, I’m actually protecting the unity of the body of Christ and reflecting His heart.
My heart is definitely stirred to keep pressing into chapter 5 and see how Paul builds on this call to live in love and light.
I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us.
Have a wonderful day all!
Sister Cindy this really stayed with me

π Good night, sisters.
Good evening lovely Ladies:
ReplyDeleteTruth from Ephesians 4:
where Paul urges us {me} to live a life worthy of the calling we {I} received. to be completely humble, gentle, patient bearing with one another in love. Putting off the old self and putting on the new, renewing my mind , because it takes a renewing of the mind where hate once lived love with abide even more deeply, with no conditions. This morning while in church worshipping and thinking how I am so love by God, the thought that came to we was, God does not love me because I deserve it, if that was his way, I would not be love. So who am I to love with conditions to get so impatient with others. I pledge to live a life worthy of the calling I have received, with the guidance of the holy spirit. I am a work in process making progress.
This journey has opened my eyes and made me come alive and live more conscious daily in many ways.
I thank God, and also pastor and sister penny for this Journey
will continue on with chapter 5
{sorry if I strayed}.

ReplyDelete" Thinkgiving" - Reflecting & Thanksgiving Together
Hello everyone.
GO DEEP
Ephesians 4 is a stern reminder that as I learned the truth about Jesus, I need to get rid of the old nature that will grieve Him, for it does not represent God.
Instead allow the Holy Spirit to renew my thoughts and attitudes. Allowing the new self to clothe every aspect of my life?
My heart is stirred to keep pressing on into chapter 5.
Blessings.
Good morning Sister (sorry about the late response)

GO DEEP
The study on Ephesians 4 was an eye opener for me. I have read this chapter so many times but never saw the deep practical truth of God words. It caused me to look deep into myself and see how my temperament lines up with Gods words such as: - Just to mention a few
Do I have the courage to speak truth in love?
Do I model peace making that reflect Christ.
Yes, I am ready to move onto Chapter 5
