πŸ‘‹ Introduction

Thank you for participating yesterday!

Today, Paul reminds us that love cannot live in the dark — it must shine. To love our neighbour well is to walk in the light of Christ, letting His goodness, righteousness, and truth guide our steps.

πŸ“– Scripture Reading (NLT) Ephesians 5:8–14

  • 8 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!
  • 9 (For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true.)
  • 10 Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.
  • 11 Take no part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead, expose them.
  • 12 It is shameful even to talk about the things that ungodly people do in secret.
  • 13 But their evil intentions will be exposed when the light shines on them,
  • 14 for the light makes everything visible. This is why it is said, “Awake, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will give you light.”

🌱 Loved to Love: Lessons for Each Temperament
(Ephesians 5:8–14)

πŸ”΄ Choleric (Bold, Driven)

  1. Love means using strength to shine light, not cast shadows (v.8).

  2. Boldness should produce goodness and truth, not harshness (v.9).

  3. Leadership must carefully seek what pleases the Lord (v.10).

  4. Expose sin with love, not pride (v.11).

  5. Confront darkness but remain humble (v.12–13).

  6. Inspire others to rise up, not tear them down (v.14).

  7. True authority shines Christ’s light, not self’s agenda (v.8).

🟑 Sanguine (Joyful, Outgoing)

  1. Light-filled love is more than cheerful words — it produces what is right (v.9).

  2. Your joy should point people to Christ, not to yourself (v.8).

  3. Be careful not to joke about darkness (v.12).

  4. Bring hope and encouragement by exposing light, not celebrating shadows (v.11).

  5. Use your voice to inspire others to “wake up” in Christ (v.14).

  6. Seek what pleases the Lord instead of chasing approval (v.10).

  7. Shine consistently, not only when others are watching (v.13).

πŸ”΅ Melancholic (Thoughtful, Analytical)

  1. Love must not hide in criticism but shine in truth (v.9).

  2. Avoid dwelling in darkness, even in thought (v.12).

  3. Holiness requires seeking what pleases the Lord (v.10).

  4. Shine with compassion, not condemnation (v.13).

  5. Love awakens, it doesn’t crush (v.14).

  6. Rest in the light of Christ instead of perfectionism (v.8).

  7. Share truth in ways that build bridges, not walls (v.11).

🟒 Phlegmatic (Peaceful, Easygoing)

  1. Love requires action — light cannot stay hidden (v.8).

  2. Don’t mistake passivity for peace; shine courageously (v.9).

  3. Pleasing the Lord means stepping out of comfort zones (v.10).

  4. Neutrality toward sin is not love — it is silence in the dark (v.11).

  5. Speak gently but truthfully when exposing darkness (v.13).

  6. Be a steady encourager who helps others wake up (v.14).

  7. Your calm presence should reflect Christ’s light, not hide from it (v.8).

➡️ Encourage each other:
Choose one lesson from the two temperaments that are not your primary or secondary blend, and share it in the comments as encouragement to your sisters with those different temperaments.

Example:
“I am Choleric/Melancholic, so I will share with the Phlegmatic and Sanguine:

  • Sanguine: Bring hope and encouragement by exposing light, not celebrating shadows (v.11).

  • Phlegmatic: Pleasing the Lord means stepping out of comfort zones (v.10).”

πŸ”₯ Encouragement for the Day

You are no longer in the dark — you are light in the Lord! πŸ’‘ When you love your neighbor as yourself, you bring Christ’s light into their lives. Darkness flees when love shines with goodness, truth, and courage. Be a voice that awakens others to walk in the light of Christ.

πŸ’– Come back for Loved to Love – Part 3: Walk in Wisdom (Ephesians 5:15–20).

πŸ‘ Team Care:
Please reach out to the sisters on your team who haven’t posted lately—check in gently, pray with them, and invite them back into the conversation. Your touch matters. πŸ’—
