Practice

Paul urges us to put off our old self, which is corrupted by deceitful desires, and to be made new in the attitude of our minds—putting on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. For each temperament blend, this requires intentional surrender, practical steps, and Spirit-led transformation.  Kindly read about your blend and do the "Practice" part this week.

1. Choleric / Melancholic

Your drive for excellence and order can either build others up or break them down.
Put Off: Harshness when others fall short, impatience when processes seem slow.
Put On: Spirit-led patience, using your leadership to guide rather than control.
Practice: This week, pause before correcting someone—ask God to give you words that inspire rather than intimidate. Write down one instance each day where you chose gentleness over frustration.

2. Choleric / Sanguine

Your energy and influence are powerful, but unchecked can become dominating.
Put Off: Talking over others or pushing your own agenda without listening.
Put On: True listening, allowing others to shine.
Practice: In one conversation today, intentionally speak last—affirm others’ contributions before offering your own opinion.

3. Choleric / Phlegmatic

Your balance of drive and calm can achieve much when surrendered to God.
Put Off: Avoiding hard conversations until frustration builds up.
Put On: Courage to address issues with both clarity and kindness.
Practice: Identify one area of silent frustration—set a time to prayerfully and humbly address it this week.

4. Melancholic / Choleric

Your high standards and decisiveness can be a blessing, but perfectionism can wound.
Put Off: Perfectionist criticism of self and others.
Put On: Grace for mistakes, both yours and theirs.
Practice: When you notice an imperfection, find at least one thing to affirm before giving feedback.

5. Melancholic / Sanguine

Your depth and warmth make you a compassionate friend, but inconsistency can undermine trust.
Put Off: Overcommitment and people-pleasing that leave you drained.
Put On: Boundaries rooted in God’s priorities.
Practice: Before saying “yes” this week, pause to pray and consider if it aligns with your calling.

6. Melancholic / Phlegmatic

Your steady faithfulness is a gift, but over-caution can lead to missed opportunities.
Put Off: Procrastination and fear of failure.
Put On: Bold obedience to God’s prompting.
Practice: Act immediately on one nudge from the Holy Spirit today without overthinking it.

7. Sanguine / Choleric

Your charisma can gather people, but unchecked zeal can steamroll them.
Put Off: Jumping to solutions without hearing the whole story.
Put On: Slowing down to ask good questions first.
Practice: In a group setting this week, ask at least two clarifying questions before sharing your perspective.

8. Sanguine / Melancholic

Your mix of joy and depth can bring life and wisdom, but your mood can swing when misunderstood.
Put Off: Internalizing others’ comments or assuming the worst.
Put On: Trusting God’s view of you over human opinions.
Practice: When feeling hurt, write down one truth from Scripture about your identity and declare it aloud.

9. Sanguine / Phlegmatic

Your easygoing friendliness makes you approachable, but you may avoid deeper challenges.
Put Off: Staying in comfort zones that keep you from growth.
Put On: Stepping into new responsibilities with faith.
Practice: Say “yes” to one growth opportunity this week, even if it stretches you.

10. Phlegmatic / Choleric

Your calm persistence can accomplish great things, but resentment can build if you feel pushed.
Put Off: Passive resistance or slow withdrawal.
Put On: Honest, timely communication.
Practice: Share one need or concern with someone instead of bottling it up.

11. Phlegmatic / Sanguine

Your kindness is refreshing, but avoiding confrontation can allow problems to grow.
Put Off: Saying “it’s fine” when it isn’t.
Put On: Speaking the truth in love.
Practice: Choose one relationship where you will lovingly express your feelings instead of staying silent.

12. Phlegmatic / Melancholic

Your loyalty and thoughtfulness are invaluable, but hesitation can stop you from using your gifts.
Put Off: Overanalyzing until the opportunity passes.
Put On: Acting on what you know is right, even if you feel unsure.
Practice: Write down one gift or idea God has given you, and take the first step toward using it this week.
