Stay With the Word: Read · Reflect · Respond
Days 8–14
Thank you for reading along last week. Whether you stayed on pace or are finding your way back, I’m grateful you’re here. Faithfulness grows through return, not perfection.
As we step into this week, there are 358 days remaining in the year—ample space for God to speak, shape, and strengthen us. Keep showing up. God honors steady trust.
If you only have time for one passage today, start there. God will meet you.
Each day, come back to Read the Word, Reflect honestly, and Respond in prayer and community—one day at a time.
For Chat Sharing: even if you’re unsure what to say, simply sharing a verse is enough.
Genesis 15–17 | Matthew 8 | Psalm 8 | Proverbs 8
Take a moment to notice what stirred your heart as you read.
Prayer Point (Proverbs): Ask God to help you listen for wisdom and respond with trust.
Chat Sharing: If nothing clearly spoke to you today, you’re still invited to share a verse that caught your eye. (If you’d like, you may also share why it felt noticeable.)
Genesis 18–19 | Matthew 9 | Psalm 9 | Proverbs 9
Sit quietly with the balance of justice and mercy in today’s readings.
Prayer Point (Proverbs): Pray for discernment to choose wisdom over ease.
Chat Sharing: Whether it encouraged you or puzzled you, share a verse that lingered with you today. (Optional: what did it help you notice?)
Genesis 20–22 | Matthew 10 | Psalm 10 | Proverbs 10
Reflect on where trust and obedience meet in your life.
Prayer Point (Proverbs): Ask God for wisdom to walk faithfully in daily choices.
Chat Sharing: Even if today felt difficult or quiet, is there a verse you can name from the readings? (If you wish, share how it met you.)
Genesis 23–24 | Matthew 11 | Psalm 11 | Proverbs 11
Notice any sense of comfort or direction God may be offering.
Prayer Point (Proverbs): Pray for a heart shaped by integrity and faithfulness.
Chat Sharing: If one verse felt gentle or grounding today, you’re invited to share it. (Sharing why is completely optional.)
Genesis 25–26 | Matthew 12 | Psalm 12 | Proverbs 12
Consider how God remains faithful through imperfect situations.
Prayer Point (Proverbs): Ask God to shape your words and actions with wisdom.
Chat Sharing: Was there a verse that offered steadiness or perspective today? (If you want, share what it offered.)
Genesis 27–28 | Matthew 13 | Psalm 13 | Proverbs 13
Hold space for both honesty and hope as you reflect.
Prayer Point (Proverbs): Pray for patience and wisdom while waiting on God.
Chat Sharing: Even if your heart feels unsure, share a verse that resonated—or simply lingered—with you today. (Optional: why do you think it did?)
Genesis 29–30 | Matthew 14 | Psalm 14 | Proverbs 14
Reflect on how God may be inviting you to trust Him more deeply.
Prayer Point (Proverbs): Ask God to guide your steps with wisdom and discernment.
Chat Sharing: Whether clearly or quietly, is there a verse God brought to your attention today? (If you’d like, share how it’s speaking to you.)
God often speaks softly.
Sometimes clarity comes later.
What matters is this: you stayed with the Word.
As we share verses, we begin to see how God speaks uniquely—and yet consistently—to His people.
Come back each day to read the next passages, pause to reflect, and respond again in prayer and community.
As you move through your week, let one verse stay with you.
Keep listening.
One day at a time.
Days 1–31
As we begin a new year of reading God’s Word together, let us approach Scripture with open hearts and a desire not only to read, but also to listen, learn, and grow.
Some passages will encourage us.
Some will challenge us.
Some may raise questions.
But through it all, God remains faithful and His Word remains true.
Pray simply:
“Lord, help me to know You more as I walk through Your Word this year.”
January begins with the foundations of Scripture in Genesis 1–50, where we read about creation, the fall, the flood, God’s covenant promises, and the lives of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. These chapters reveal God as Creator, Sustainer, Judge, Redeemer, and Covenant Keeper.
We then begin Exodus 1–12, where God starts His mighty work of delivering Israel from bondage in Egypt through Moses.
In the New Testament, we journey through the entire Gospel of Matthew, where Jesus is revealed as the promised Messiah and King. His teachings, miracles, parables, and call to discipleship set the tone for understanding the Kingdom of God. At the end of the month, we begin Mark 1–3, where the ministry of Jesus moves forward with urgency and authority.
The Psalms (1–31) guide us daily in worship, prayer, wisdom, repentance, trust, and praise. These psalms remind us that blessedness is found in delighting in the Lord and walking closely with Him.
