🌅 Day 1 | Week 3

PROMPTS Devotional – Ephesians 3:16–17
Focus: P – Prayer, R – Read, O – Observe

Hello Sisters,

Welcome to Week 3 of our Loved to Love journey through Ephesians!

This week, we turn to Ephesians 3—a chapter that brings us face to face with the vastness of God’s love and the Spirit-empowered strength available to every believer.

Paul isn’t just offering theology—he’s praying for transformation. This chapter calls us to go deeper:

ðŸŠī Deeper into God’s love

ðŸĪ Deeper into loving others

💎 Especially those wired differently from us

✨ Brief Summary of Ephesians 3

In Ephesians 3, Paul reveals the mystery that both Jews and Gentiles are united in Christ. He then offers a powerful prayer (vv. 14–21), asking that believers be:

Strengthened with power through the Holy Spirit
Rooted and grounded in love
Able to comprehend the limitless dimensions of God’s love

Paul ends with a faith-filled reminder that God is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all we ask or think—through His power at work in us.

Today, we begin with the first three steps in our

PROMPTS Devotional:

🙏 P – Prayer: Invite the Holy Spirit to meet you as you begin.

📖 R – Read: Slowly read through Ephesians 3, especially verses 16–17.

🔎 O – Observe: Take note of what stands out. Who is speaking? What is being asked? Why does it matter?

ðŸŒŋ Set aside focused, quiet time to reflect deeply. Ask the Lord to prepare your heart not just to receive His Word, but to be shaped by it.

Let today’s study lay the foundation for transformation—not just in what you know, but in how you live and love. 💖

🙏 P – PRAYER

Heavenly Father, thank You for strengthening me deep within. I often try to love others in my own strength, but today I ask that Your Spirit empower me to love well—especially those who are not like me. May my roots go deep into Your love so I won’t be shaken by conflict, difference, or discomfort. Strengthen every part of me to live like Jesus, love like Jesus, and welcome others like Jesus did.

In Jesus' name, amen.

📖 R – READ

Take a few quiet moments to slowly and prayerfully read all of Ephesians 3. Let it speak to your heart.

Now meditate on Ephesians 3:16–17 (NLT):

“I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.

Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him.

Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.”

🔎 O – OBSERVE

Who is the author speaking to?
Paul is speaking to believers in the church at Ephesus, and by extension, to all followers of Christ.

What is being prayed for?
That they would be empowered with inner strength through the Holy Spirit, and that Christ would dwell in their hearts as they trust in Him—resulting in a life rooted in love.

When does this transformation happen?
As they trust in Him—a daily, ongoing surrender to Christ.

Where does this inner work take place?
In the inner being—the heart, soul, and spirit of the believer.

Why is being rooted in love essential?
Because God’s love stabilizes and strengthens us. Without it, faith wavers and love fades.

How does Christ dwell in our hearts?
Through faith—as we make space for Him daily, inviting Him to live, lead, and reign fully within us.
