🌿 Sunday Reflection: Something to Think About
A BLESSED SUNDAY TO ALL!
Temperament Transformation — Proverbs 18
Before reading today’s reflection, please pause and read Proverbs 18.
This chapter teaches us about the power of words, the danger of pride, the safety of wisdom, and the blessing of humility.
Each temperament blend faces unique struggles in these areas.
Today, let the Word of God and the Holy Spirit reveal what needs refining in you.
As you read through the reflection points — especially your blend —
Type “Amen” in the comments if it speaks to your heart.
That Amen is your agreement to keep growing and yielding to God’s transformation.
🔵🟢 Melancholic / Phlegmatic — Alanda, Alynthia, Ann C, Deborah, Jesmyn, Laura, Trudy, Michelle
Your quiet strength is admirable, but Proverbs 18 warns about isolation:
“A person who isolates himself seeks his own desire; he quarrels against all sound wisdom.” (v.1)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I pulling away when I should be seeking wise counsel and community?
🟢🟡 Melancholic / Sanguine — Hazel
You’re deeply relational, but easily hurt by words.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” (v.21)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I guarding my heart against offense, or letting careless words define my worth?
🟡🟢 Sanguine / Phlegmatic — Cassandra
You love conversations, but Proverbs 18 reminds you:
“A fool does not delight in understanding, but in revealing his own mind.” (v.2)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I listening to understand, or just waiting for my turn to speak?
🟢🔵 Phlegmatic / Melancholic — Claudia, Jacintha, Anne
Your reflective nature is a gift, but don’t let fear silence needed words.
“The words of a person’s mouth are deep waters.” (v.4)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I holding back words of wisdom because I fear confrontation?
🔵🔴 Melancholic / Choleric — Cindy, Glenda, Theresa
You value truth and excellence, but beware:
“Before destruction the heart of a person is haughty, but humility goes before honor.” (v.12)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I approaching correction with pride, or clothed in humility?
🔴🔵 Choleric / Melancholic — Gale, Tessie
You are bold and direct, but Proverbs 18 says:
“A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city.” (v.19)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I being mindful of how my tone affects relationships?
🟡🔴 Sanguine / Choleric — Alison, Debbie
Your energy leads well, but Proverbs reminds you:
“The one who states his case first seems right, until another comes and examines him.” (v.17)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I rushing to conclusions without hearing the whole story?
🟢🔴 Phlegmatic / Choleric — Maria, Beverly
You avoid conflict, but when pushed, you push back hard.
“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” (v.15:1 — cross-reference)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I responding gently when confronted, or reacting out of bottled-up frustration?
📖 Final Thought
Transformation is a daily yielding.
As we meditate on Proverbs 18, remember:
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe.” (v.10)
Let’s keep running to Him,
letting His Word shape our responses,
and allowing the Holy Spirit to refine our hearts.
If this reflection speaks to you, type “Amen” in the comments.
Together, let’s keep growing — with wisdom, humility, and grace. 🌿
"I trust you are having, or have had, a wonderful day of worship."

Answer to question 1:
1️⃣ How did the “I Statements” help you better understand others (or yourself)?
• - In reflection of I statement # 6; I am better able to understand my Sanguine sisters, it is not right to assume that they are trying to be the center of attention, but, on the contrary, they may just be strugling with one emotion or another, or even masking pain with humor. Therefore, I need to be more compassionate, caring and loving when interacting with them.
Completing the temparament paring activities was fun and inspiring. We were able to identify our fellow colleagues and align them with their temparament. While reading through each "I statements", we recognised that every statements listed was a description of each of us popping out through the lines. This helped us to accept the fact that we are all unique human beings, just communicating in our own language while being ourselves.
Therefore, instead of judging others, we must try our best to understand what it is they are saying through their personality and temparament, and moreover, we must respond to them just the way Christ responded to us, interacting with each other in an open, loving and caring manner.
