🔵🟢 Understanding the Melancholic/Phlegmatic Blend - May 10

            🔵🟢 Melancholic/Phlegmatic Blend

🌿 Temperament Topic: Quiet Strength
— Embracing Steadfast Grace in the Melancholic/Phlegmatic Journey

Good day, Wisdom Seekers! 👋🏾

Thank you to all who shared yesterday’s reflections and encouragement for our Melancholic/Choleric sisters. Your words added light and wisdom to the day. Let’s keep showing up with grace and presence as we continue this daily transformation walk together. ❤️🔵

✨ A quick reminder: This journey is daily, not rushed. No need to catch up — simply engage today. If you feel led to go back and reflect on earlier blends, you’re most welcome to do so!

📅 Today, May 10, we turn our focus to the 🔵🟢 Melancholic/Phlegmatic blend. These women are quiet treasures — dependable, thoughtful, and deeply committed to doing what’s right, even when no one is watching.

👭 Sisters with this blend:

Alanda, Alynthia, Deborah, Jesmyn, Laura, Trudy, and Michelle

Let’s surround them with our prayers, support, and gratitude today.

🔍 Understanding the Melancholic/Phlegmatic Temperament

To understand this blend is to see dignified steadiness in motion. They are reflective and responsible, gentle yet principled. They bring calm into chaos and order into confusion. But inside, they may wrestle with self-doubt, fear of failure, or hesitation to speak up. They often carry burdens silently, seeking peace for others while privately sorting through their own emotions.

Their transformation comes through surrender — trusting God with their private pressures, releasing the fear of mistakes, and believing that their stillness is a powerful form of strength.

🌿 Strengths:

  • Reliable • Caring • Thoughtful • Organized • Loyal • Conscientious

⚠️ Growth Areas:

  • Tendency to overthink • Hesitation • Avoiding conflict • Bottling up feelings

🕊️ Why Yielding Matters:

  • This blend can get stuck in internal processing. Yielding to the Spirit gives them boldness to act, speak, and step into what God is calling them to — even when it’s uncomfortable.

💡 Core Needs:
  • Emotional safety • Encouragement without pressure • Time to reflect and recharge

💔 Discouragement Triggers:

  • Feeling unappreciated, overlooked, or pushed too hard too quickly

🔥 Under Stress:

  • They may retreat into silence, suppress feelings, or feel immobilized by uncertainty

💞 How They Love:

  • Through quiet service, consistency, listening, and small acts of kindness

👥 In Groups:

  • They are steady contributors who thrive in peaceful environments. They may need encouragement to speak up and trust that their voice matters.

🤔 Common Misunderstandings:

  • They may seem passive or withdrawn — but in truth, they’re deeply thoughtful and just need time to process before they act or respond.

🙏 Spiritual Strengths:

  • Faithfulness • Integrity • Depth of thought • Gentle wisdom

💬 How to Encourage Them:

  • Affirm their value. Gently call out their gifts. Let them know that their faithfulness and quiet obedience are seen and deeply appreciated.

⚠️ Temperament Traps:

  • Procrastination • Self-doubt • Avoiding challenges • Shrinking back instead of standing firm

➡️ Transformational Goal:

  • To walk in calm boldness — allowing the Holy Spirit to move them from hesitation to Spirit-led action, rooted in the truth that stillness is not weakness when God is in control.

🛐 Prayer Focus for Today:

  • Pray that our Melancholic/Phlegmatic sisters will feel seen, supported, and steady. May they be reminded that God treasures their gentle spirit and quiet strength. Ask God to release any burden of perfectionism and to fill them with the confidence to walk boldly in His purpose.

💬 Today’s Blog Reflections:

  2. 🌿 If this is your blend, what truth or “aha moment” stood out to you today?

  1. Good morning to all my beautiful sisters

    Melancholic/ Phlegmatic

What a well crafted out description of us fine ladies 😊

Myself , Alynthia, Deborah, Jesmyn, Laura, Trudy, and Michelle
Thank you ladies for sharing with me we are all in this together ..

As I reflected on my personality in the wee hours of the morning I said to myself truly this is who i am , and sometimes because of pride I may try to be someone else but how long does it last ,
As a Melancholic/phlegmatic apart from the other challenges like retreat into silence, suppress feelings, or feel immobilized by uncertainty I find that my biggest one yet is speaking out especially in groups , mind you if I speak you can get alot from me , but if that boldness does not come out I will just sit there .
Is it fear or feeling that what I have to say may be miscommunicated ? , I remember some months back I asked my friend Cindy what were her thoughts on me and here’s a few that stood out me ,

    - I admire your ability to stay calm and composed, even in stressful situations.
    - Your empathy and kindness stand out to me. You always seem to understand and care about what others are going through.
    - l really appreciate your confidence and authenticity.
    Thanks again sister Cindy ..

How I will relate , sister Deborah I admire your strength and for some reason I believe we have a lot more in common ,for my other sisters whom I love so dear I know at times we Procrastinate• Self-doubt • Avoid challenges • Shrink back instead of standing firm but let us try our best to be bold .

    The “aha” for me was

They bring calm into chaos and order into confusion. But inside, they may wrestle with self-doubt, fear of failure, or hesitation to speak up. They often carry burdens silently, seeking peace for others while privately sorting through their own emotions sister Gale you couldn’t have said it better ..

    My prayer for us ladies.
Heavenly Father I come to you with a heart that yearns for you , at this moment lord I lift up my sisters before you myself Alynthia, Deborah, Jesmyn, Laura, Trudy, and Michelle
I ask for strength to respond to difficult situations with grace and compassion help us to choose kindness over anger and to find peace in the midst of chaos help us to remember that you treasure our gentle spirit
often times we strive for unattainable standards, leading to anxiety and self-criticism. I ask for your grace to see that you love us not for what we do but for who we are in Christ. Help us to embrace our imperfections, to learn from our mistakes, and to accept your unconditional love. Grant us the peace that surpasses understanding, the peace of knowing that we are loved and accepted, just as we are in Jesus name Amen.

  6. Happy Saturday and greetings to you all,

Today I big-up all you beautiful Ladies of the Melancholic/Phligmatic Blend :
Alanda, Alynthia, Deborah, Jesmyn, Laura, Trudy, and Michelle.

Reading and learning about your temparement blend will definitely help me to better relate to you. I have had the opportunity to interact with you ladies since Covid and in some cases way before that, and I can that this description is so on point.

Ladies, today I have learned that I can encourage you when I affirm your value. Gently call out your gifts. I also learn that I can also let you know that your faithfulness and quiet obedience are seen and deeply appreciated.
Thank you for just being you are, one thing I am certaint of is that being quiet does not mean that you don't have anything to say.

Lord I thank you for each of these ladies today and I pray that you will cover them, Lord strengthen them individually and collectively, release any burden of perfectionism amongst them, and fill them with the confidence to walk boldly in your purpose in Jesus name Amen.

  7. Hello Ladies!

    Understanding the Melancholic/Phlegmatic Blend

Today as we focus on Melancholic/Phlegmatic Blend I can speak of my friendship with Sister Alanda that goes back many years, and I’ll be honest—there were times I used to wonder if I needed to walk on eggshells around her, or why she wouldn’t speak up when others seemed to take advantage of her kindness and calm spirit. But over time, and especially through learning more about the Melancholic/Phlegmatic blend, I’ve come to appreciate the quiet strength, loyalty, and depth she carries. I’m truly grateful for a deeper understanding of who she is and how beautifully God has wired her.

To the other ladies with this blend, I pray you give yourself permission to be who God created you to be—steady, thoughtful and compassionate. You don’t have to speak loudly to be heard, and your quiet faithfulness is a gift to those around you.

Lord, thank You for the gentle, steady hearts of those with the Melancholic/Phlegmatic personality. Help them to see their quiet strength as a reflection of Your peace and wisdom. Remind them that they are deeply valued, even when they feel overlooked. Give them courage to speak when needed and joy in knowing they are beautifully and intentionally made. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    Melancholic/ Phlegmatic Blend
To all my fellow sisters that has been blessed with that Blend may you not continue to
hold yourself back with self doubt or challenges.
I have the opportunity to witness the growth in each one of you.
This platform is a golden opportunity to keep on pressing on.

My "aha moment. " is my discouragement trigge.
    Push too hard too quickly.
I am smiling as I write the word push.I am reminded, Not giving up but PUSH.
PUSH has been one of my mantra since the beginning of 2025. That helps me to realize that sometimes a hard push is ne.
Therefore, I do not allow it to be a discouragement as before.
    My area of Transformation.

I pray for my blended temperament sisters, to embrace who you are. God did not make a mistake. Let us allow the Holp Spirit to continue to help us as we seek to be transformed into a healthier version of ourselves.
Making the changes when and where necessary. In Jesus name. Amen.

  11. Good Morning Ladies
I would say this is very spot on for my personality. I have often been misunderstood just because I keep quiet. I love stillness, to be in my own thoughts,it doesn't mean that I am not fully engaged with what's happening in my environment.
This week I had to train someone at work and she kept saying she's never met someone as calm as I am.

I told her it's my superpower. I tend to double down in silence when there is chaos around and I have always been very proud of that because you are least need one person who can steady others in times of distress.

It's also very true that we carry other's burdens while wrestling with our own, somehow we find the strength to be there for others. I have learnt to find my own outlet when I need to empty inside and Jesus and I are always talking LOL.
. Today I feel freed from other's expectations that I need to behave as they are to be deemed ok. Thank you Father for this deliverance and I pray that everyone with this blend will continue to seek boldness to share of ourselves because we are some really awesome individuals which the world very much needs..

  12. Temperament trap: Procrastination!
(I read this yesterday and still ended up ‘procrastinating’ on posting my response LOL - forgive me!)

I agree with my fellow ‘Melancholic/Phlegmatics’ this description was ‘spot on!’ As I read through the descriptions, I kept thinking ‘WOW! That sounds just like me!’

Jesmyn you are absolutely right - our ability to be calm is a superpower! In my field, emergencies and chaos are part of the job, so being calm is truly an asset.
On the flip side, I have experienced situations where my ‘calmness’ is viewed as being passive or withdrawn. However, now that I am aware this is a common misunderstanding about me, I need the Holy Spirit to give me the boldness to speak up and stop overthinking.

Reading this whole description was an ‘Aha’ moment for me. The one that stood out to me most was how I respond under stress: “They may retreat into silence, suppress feelings, or feel immobilized by uncertainty”. This was something I sort of knew about myself, but reading it, I realize I need to be alert to not fall into this trap when I’m stressed.

    Prayer for my blend-sisters:
Lord God, thank you for creating us with this wonderful temperament! Although we are calm in chaos, we ask that Your Holy Spirit help us to 'walk in calm boldness' as well. I pray that you will help those of us who struggle with self-doubt to remember that You have empowered and enriched us with Your power. Help us to not shrink back, but stand firm and ‘move from hesitation to Spirit-led action’. In Jesus name, Amen!
