Temperament Transformation Reflection

“Understand Me Before You Judge Me”
π Let’s Grow in Understanding Together
It’s easy to enjoy the energy of a Sanguine — and just as easy to misunderstand them. Their joy may be mistaken for immaturity, their openness mistaken for insincerity. But those with a Sanguine temperament reflect a part of God’s nature that is relational, expressive, and full of life.
Today, we’re slowing down to better understand our Sanguine sisters — women who often bring warmth, encouragement, and laughter, yet may quietly struggle with inconsistency, insecurity, or the fear of being rejected or forgotten.
This is your moment to better understand them — and yourself — as we continue learning how to love our neighbours as ourselves (Mark 12:31) and follow Jesus’ teaching to look beyond appearances and extend compassion (John 7:24). π¬✨
πͺ Reflection
God’s people come in many expressions. While some process inwardly, Sanguines live outwardly — talking through their feelings, seeking connection, and lighting up rooms. Yet even they need to feel heard, not judged. Under the laughter may be loneliness. Behind the cheerfulness, a longing to be taken seriously.
Today, let’s choose understanding over assumption.
Let’s listen before labeling, and reflect before reacting.
π Scripture Focus
“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
— John 7:24 (NASB)
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
— Mark 12:31 (NASB)

ReplyDeleteWhen I seem like I’m talking too much or being overly cheerful, please don’t assume I’m shallow — what I really need you to know is that I talk to feel connected — not to dominate or be the center of attention. Please note, I’m genuinely excited in sharing, but when I see your body language, your action causes me to pull back from sharing. π (This is from the heart)

DeleteSister Debbie,
DeleteThank you so much for highlighting one of the tendencies of the Sanguine — pulling away in response to the body language and actions of others. This is truly a growth area for many of us, and your insight is both timely and meaningful.
I was wondering, Sister Debbie — do you know why a Sanguine may respond this way? What is it about observing others’ body language or behavior that causes them to retreat?
Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated as we continue learning how to grow in understanding and love.
Thank you for the question Sister Debbie. As for me, observing someone's body language while I'm speaking, whether it's true or not, the message I get is, that person is not interested in what I'm saying so I better shut up, or I might be boring them by what I'm saying, and finally, that person don't value what I have to share, as a result, I'll pull away.
DeleteHowever, I'm getting better at overlooking people's body language, I'm not there 100% yet, but getting there. ππΌ
