Week 8 — H: Holy

Warm greetings, dear sisters.

Thank you for continuing this journey with us as we reflect on the attributes of God. So far, we have studied God as Almighty, Benevolent (Good), Compassionate, Deliverer, Eternal, Gracious and Faithful.

This week we turn our hearts toward God as Holy—perfectly pure, set apart, righteous, and glorious in all His ways.

Take this study at your own pace throughout the week. The goal is not rushing through material, but slowing down enough to see God more clearly and respond to Him sincerely. Feel free to use the suggested study schedule below.

H — Holy

“Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts.” — Isaiah 6:3

Focus for this week:

Seeing God as Holy—the One who is perfectly pure, righteous, and completely set apart.

Weekly Attribute Summary:

God is Holy — there is no one like Him.

SUNDAY — READ & REFLECT

P — Prayer

Lord, open my eyes to see Your holiness more clearly. Help me to respond to You with reverence, worship, and obedience.

R — Read (Return to these throughout the week)

“Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts…” — Isaiah 6:3

“Be holy, for I am holy.” — 1 Peter 1:16

“There is no one holy like the Lord…” — 1 Samuel 2:2

“Exalt the Lord our God and worship at His holy hill…” — Psalm 99:9

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom…” — Proverbs 9:10

Reflect

Take a few moments to reflect:

  • What comes to mind when you think about the holiness of God?

  • How does God’s holiness affect the way you approach Him?

Picture This Attribute

Imagine standing before a brilliant light so pure that nothing hidden remains concealed.

God’s holiness is perfect purity without sin, darkness, or corruption.

Name It Before God

Is there an area of your life where God may be calling you to draw closer to Him in purity, obedience, or reverence?

Perhaps in:

  • your thoughts

  • your speech

  • your attitude

  • your relationships

  • your priorities

  • your entertainment choices

  • your prayer life

  • your worship

  • your forgiveness toward others

  • your obedience to His Word

  • your time with Him

  • your private life

Bring that area honestly before the Lord today, then share with us on the WOW chat the one you choose so we can pause and pray for you today.

Let these scriptures remain with you throughout the day. Return tomorrow, God willing.

  • “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom…” — Proverbs 9:10

MONDAY — OBSERVE

O — Observe

  • God is completely holy
“Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts…” — Isaiah 6:3

  • There is no one like Him

  • His holiness calls for worship
“Exalt the Lord our God…” — Psalm 99:9

Attribute Contrast

The world changes its standards constantly.

But God’s holiness never changes.

What stood out to you in the Observe section above? Share it on the WOW chat.

If you feel spiritually dry today, remember:
God’s holiness draws us back to worship and surrender.

Take a few quiet moments to reflect on what you have read today. Continue tomorrow, God willing.

  • “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom…” — Proverbs 9:10

TUESDAY — MEANING

M — Meaning

Why This Matters

Holy (Hebrew: qadosh)
Set apart, sacred, pure, completely without sin.

God’s holiness means He is absolutely pure in every way.

He is:

  • morally perfect

  • righteous

  • pure

  • without corruption

  • completely set apart from sin

God’s holiness is not harsh or cold. It reveals the beauty, purity, and perfection of His character.

Attribute in Action

When Isaiah saw the holiness of God in Isaiah 6, he became aware of both God’s greatness and his own need for cleansing.

God’s holiness does not push us away when we come humbly—it draws us into transformation.

Living in Light of This Truth

Because God is holy:

  • I can worship Him with reverence

  • I can pursue purity and obedience

  • I can turn away from sin

  • I can approach Him with humility

  • I can desire what pleases Him

  • I can live differently from the world around me

Look Back

When has God convicted, corrected, or drawn you closer to Him?

Take a moment to sit with this truth.

On the WOW chat:
Type “Holy is the Lord” if you desire to grow closer to Him.

Faith Declaration

Lord, help me to honor You with my life and walk closely with You.

Identity Reminder

May these reminders strengthen your heart today. Continue tomorrow, God willing.

  • “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” — Matthew 5:8

WEDNESDAY — PRAISE

P — Praise (with Scripture)

Lord, I praise You because You are holy
“Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts…” — Isaiah 6:3

You are pure and righteous in all Your ways
“The Lord is righteous in all His ways…” — Psalm 145:17

SATURDAY — PRAISING GOD FOR WHO HE IS

As we come to the close of this week’s study, let us take time to reflect on the attributes of God we have studied so far and praise Him for who He is.

AttributeDeclaration
AlmightyWhen my strength ends, His power does not.
BenevolentGod is good — not sometimes, not occasionally, but continually good.
CompassionateHe sees every tear, hears every silent cry, and still draws near.
DelivererChains break. Fear trembles. Darkness loses its grip when God steps in.
EternalBefore time began, He was God. When kingdoms rise and fall, He remains unchanged.
FaithfulPeople may fail. Situations may shift. But God keeps His Word.
GraciousHe gives mercy where judgment was deserved. He lifts us gently when weakness says, “stay down.”
HolyPure in every way. Righteous in every decision. Worthy of every song, every surrender, every breath.

So today, we do not praise God because life is perfect. We praise Him because He is — Almighty, Benevolent, Compassionate, Deliverer, Eternal, Faithful, Gracious, and Holy.

On the WOW Chat

Share one declaration that has especially encouraged or strengthened your heart, and you may also briefly share why.

Closing Scripture

“Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised…” — Psalm 145:3

Spend some time today simply praising God for who He is.

  • “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” — Psalm 150:6

WOW End of Week Check-In

As you complete this week’s study, we would love to hear from you on the WOW chat.

You may simply post:
“Completed — H (Holy)”

Encouragement

Continue to grow in the knowledge of who God is.
The more clearly we see Him, the more sincerely we worship, trust, and thank Him. Stay the course in the Word.
