Welcome to March!
A Month of Listening and Wisdom
As we step into March, we do so with intention.
This month invites us to slow down, listen well, and grow in wisdom — through God’s Word and through one another.
Through our daily OT / NT / Psalm readings and weekly Proverbs reflections, we are training our hearts to hear God and respond in obedience. There is no race to finish the Bible in a year. Some days you may read all three portions; other days, only a few verses from a Psalm, the New Testament, or the Old Testament — and that is still faithfulness.
What matters most is not how much we read, but how we respond. God honors a heart that returns to His Word daily and applies what is learned.
“The one who listens to Me shall live securely.”Proverbs 1:33
“Be doers of the word, and not hearers only.”James 1:22

Listening Styles Reflection
A Prayerful Self-Awareness Exercise
As we continue this week, we turn our attention not only to what we read, but how we listen — to God, to His Word, and to one another.
This reflection is not a test and not about labels. It is an invitation to awareness, humility, and growth.
Instructions
Read each statement slowly and prayerfully.
For private reflection, notice which statements resonate most with you
Choose 2–3 statements that best reflect how you usually listen
Ask God what He may be inviting you to grow in
When your Fellowship Circle meets:
Ask one another which statements they feel may reflect you
Then share which statements you believe describe you most often
Listen with grace — this is about growth, not judgment
Reflection Statements
I tend to pause and think carefully before responding, preferring to listen fully first.
When I hear something from God or others, my instinct is to act on it right away.
I listen closely to tone, emotions, and what may be unspoken in a conversation.
Certain parts of a message stand out to me more than others, while some details may fade.
Some topics cause me to feel guarded or resistant before I fully hear what is being said.
My mind can wander or jump ahead, even when I genuinely want to listen well.
I naturally evaluate and weigh what I hear to see if it aligns with truth.
I desire to learn and grow, even when what I hear challenges or stretches me.
I listen attentively so I can support, encourage, and build others up.
When God speaks, my heart posture is willingness, even if obedience feels uncomfortable.

DeleteGood day Women of Wisdom.
ReplyDeleteThis week I noticed that I have to listen more intentionally, giving my undivided attention and allow people to finish speaking and pause before responding.
Also, to not allow the hustle and bustle of life affects how I listen to God. My desire is to focus on what matters- listening to God and doing what He is saying to me.
Have a blessed dayπ
Good day, ladies,
ReplyDeleteThank you for journeying through the Proverbs together this week. Thanks for sharing.
As I reflected on the passages we read, I was struck by what I noticed about my own listening. Honestly, it felt like every one of these reflections found its way into my proverbial pot.
I realized that I often listen quickly—but not always wisely (Prov. 1:5). The Lord seemed to be inviting me to slow down and listen more intentionally (Prov. 2:2; 4:20). I also noticed how easily distractions can affect how I hear God’s voice (Prov. 4:20).
Even now, I find myself still pondering these things—quietly sitting with what I’ve read and asking the Lord to keep shaping my heart to listen well (Prov. 8:34).
Wishing you all a wonderful and restful weekend. π

ReplyDeleteHello everyone.
This week passage was a reminder to be wise , be willing to listen attentively, with the understanding that I need to fully trust God.
Blessings.
Good morning ladies :)
ReplyDeleteAs I reflected on the Proverbs, I’m reminded of the importance of seeking out, listening and heeding to godly counsel. Whether through God’s word or from other believers, it is beneficial to listen to and accept instruction and not refuse it (10:17).
Hope you have a great day!
Good morning ladies,
ReplyDeleteAs I reflected on these Proverbs, what stood out to me was:
I noticed distractions affecting how I hear God (Prov. 4:20). I might have the best intentions to ‘stop and listen’ to God, but I would find myself getting distracted or putting off that quiet time with God.
I was reminded of the value of godly counsel (Prov. 12:15). I faced a decision today and quickly responded, but by reading the proverbs, I was reminded to seek godly counsel before making my decision.
Have a great week everyone~
