Proverbs 16 -  Speak the Truth in Love

Hello Wisdom Seekers,

Thank you for your heartfelt involvement in yesterday’s Proverbs 15 Interaction. It was such a blessing to see the verses you shared with each other’s temperaments. Let’s keep the momentum going!

Today, we’re adding a twist that invites you to lovingly challenge and refine each temperament—including your own—using Scripture-based truth.

πŸ“ Today’s Instructions:

πŸ“– After reading Proverbs 16, reflect on the verses and sentences below. Each set is written to gently challenge a temperament's area of weakness—with grace and insight.

You’ll find:

  • 3 challenge sentences for each temperament (Choleric, Sanguine, Melancholic, and Phlegmatic)

  • Each sentence is based on a specific verse from Proverbs 16

 Your Task:

  1. Choose ONE sentence for EACH temperament (including your own).

  2. Share all four sentences in the comments section below.

  3. Return later to say “thank you” to anyone who posted something meaningful for your temperament.

πŸ’¬ Reflection Questions (Post your answers in the comments below):

  1. Which sentence did you share with your own temperament—and why does it speak to your current season?

This is what I shared: “Don’t just speak to be heard—speak to heal.”

In the phase of life I’m in right now, I’ve become much more conscious of my words. I find myself intentionally paying attention to what I say. On several occasions, I’ve even told myself, “You don’t have to say this.” I’m learning that not everything needs to be voiced.

There are also moments when I revisit conversations I’ve had with my family—checking in to ensure that nothing I said caused any hurt. My goal isn’t just to speak, but to build and preserve connection through healing and thoughtful words.

    Blessings On Your Day!!

❤️ Choleric :You may lead boldly, but are you willing to pause and be led by God?

πŸ’›Sanguine : Enthusiasm is beautiful, but wisdom brings weight to your words.

πŸ’šPhlegmatic : Still waters run deep—but faith sometimes calls you to step out.

    πŸ’™Melancholic:
You may analyze everything—but are you examining your own heart with the same precision?

I am Melancholic so I choose this sentence because it stands out the most ..
In this season I am allowing myself to grow with the help of the Holy Spirit , as I mentioned time and time again I was acting on my own impulse trying to do things my way , now am allowing God to work things out for me by trusting him , so I had to step back examine my thoughts , feelings, motivations and behavior and I had to be honest with myself to know that I am not flawless and there is room for improvement and in so doing this is allowing me to have healthier relationships.
Recently I had a conversation with my son and I mentioned to him that am the one always calling , Yes he calls but not as often as I do , and I said to him you don’t even call me to let me know what’s going on with you , am always calling , and his response to me was “ stop counting the amount of times you call me , your my mom your supposed to call , he said thats your problem you think too much “ and this had me for a couple minutes … lol , so yes even though I think a lot I am striving for continuous self improvement ..

    Blessed day to all ..
it’s amazing how fast the time is going , but I was reminded by this scripture that he will shorten the days for the elect sake ..

You may analyze everything—but are you examining your own heart with the same precision?
As a melancholic, that question speaks deeply to my current season. I tend to overthink, reflect, and analyze everything—what went wrong, how something could’ve been better, how others could grow. But lately, God has been turning that mirror back toward me.

He’s showing me that while I’m busy examining situations and people with care and detail, I haven’t always given my own heart the same attention. I’ve overlooked the pride that hides behind my independence, or the fear that fuels my need to get everything right.

This season is teaching me to slow down and examine my own motives, emotions, and responses—not to condemn myself, but to grow in grace. Because true wisdom isn’t just about analyzing—it’s about allowing God to search me and shape me from the inside out.

Wishing you all an amazing day!

I choose God does'nt want your delay-He wants your dedication. I realize that dedication requires action. I am trying to get out of my comfort zone that feels so comfortable and stepping out. I find myself spending more time in the word than before, and gaining more interest in participating and being committed to applying myself in doing the work of God instead of delaying.

Enjoyed the rest of the day.

  11. Greetings Sisters!

    Transformation Through Truth

    🟩 To my Phlegmatic sisters:

Peace is your gift—but don’t confuse peacekeeping with passivity.

Do meditate on Proverbs 16:3 – “Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”

    🟦 To my Melancholic sisters:

God sees the heart—will you trust Him to purify the parts of yours that even you can't see?

This verse is a powerful reminder: Proverbs 16:2 – “All the ways of a person are clean in his own sight, but the Lord examines the motives.”

    🟨 To my Sanguine sisters:

Enthusiasm is beautiful, but wisdom brings weight to your words.

Proverbs 16:23–24 sums it up well: “The heart of the wise instructs his mouth and adds persuasiveness to his lips. Pleasant words are a honeycomb…”

πŸ”΄ And to my fellow Choleric sisters:

Control feels like strength, but in God’s economy, surrender is the true power.

Profoundly, Proverbs 16:9 emphatically tells us: “The mind of a person plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.”

    ______________

In response to this statement and verse, I wholeheartedly agree.

You know, I used to think control was strength—mostly because it came so naturally to me.
If something needed fixing or moving forward, I’d just take the lead. No questions asked.
But Proverbs has been gently reminding me: real strength doesn’t come from my ability to control—it comes from God, the One who directs my steps.
My job isn’t to figure everything out—it’s to surrender my plans to the Master and trust that He knows best.
I’m the clay. He’s the Potter.
And honestly? That truth is both humbling and freeing.
    So yes—I’m letting go.
I’m not in control. He is.
And that’s exactly where I’m supposed to be.
    __________
Great interaction with this wisdom book so far.

    Keep on keeping on Sisters.

In this new season of motherhood I’ve found that my words are powerful and to be mindful with what I say because Theo will one day repeat what he has heard. I’ve been getting humbled in this area of speaking not to be heard but to heal. I can be so quick to point out something and easily forget my bad habits too. A verse I’ve been meditating on is Proverbs 14:30 A calm and peaceful and tranquil heart is life and health to the body, but passion and envy are like rottenness to the bones. (AMP)

The  first thought  that  popped into my  head was "better pay attention to the plank in your own eyes before you  look at the speck in your neighbor (paraphrase Matt 7:3-5.The Word  used this word "Hypocrites"  to describe those of us  who fail to  examine our own heart with the same precision .
Daily surrender ,the process of  sanctification is ongoing in my life .The more yielded I am to  Christ ,my relationship with him becomes stronger, and so is my awareness of  his presence Holy Spirit .So in moments when I fail -plenty- and  my focus shift to the outside,-a lot-The pause and  redirection  to search and surrender  my  own heart happens quicker so i am Thankful  for God's  grace in this  process of Transformation.
