πŸ”΄πŸ”΅ Understanding the Choleric/Melancholic Blend - May 14

πŸ”΄πŸ”΅ Choleric/Melancholic Blend

🌿 Temperament Topic: Purpose Refined
— Grace Over Grit in the Choleric/Melancholic Journey

Good day, Wisdom Seekers! πŸ‘‹πŸΎ

Can you believe it? Today marks the last day of Week Two in our Temperament Transformation journey for May! What a rich and rewarding path we’ve walked so far — learning, praying, and speaking life into each other as sisters in Christ. πŸ’«

A big thank you to everyone who poured out encouragement yesterday for our Melancholic/Sanguine sister. Your words carried warmth and depth, just like the blend we celebrated. πŸ’›πŸ’š

✨ As always, no need to “catch up” — just join in today. Your voice matters, and your presence is a blessing.

πŸ“… Today, May 14, we spotlight the πŸ”΄πŸ”΅ Choleric/Melancholic blend — a powerful combination of vision, order, conviction, and... let’s be honest... a little intensity. πŸ˜‰

πŸ‘ Sisters with this blend:

Tessie

&

Gale

Today, we invite you to lift us up
with understanding, grace, and your prayers. πŸ’ͺπŸΎπŸ™πŸΎ

This combination is a force of focus, drive, and discipline. But it also carries weight — the pressure to perform, the tendency to critique (ourselves and others), and the battle between boldness and overthinking.

  • We need your love.
  • We need your prayers.
  • And we need a little room to grow without feeling like we’re failing.

πŸ’ So today, see us. Hear us. Support us.

And to my fellow Cho/Mel sister — let’s embrace our growth and remember: God is not just looking at our excellence — He’s working on our hearts.

πŸ” Understanding the Choleric/Melancholic Temperament

This blend brings together drive and depth, intensity and integrity. These sisters are natural leaders who value structure, truth, and high standards. They have strong convictions and the discipline to follow through. But beneath the surface, they may carry unspoken burdens, internal pressure, or a tendency to push themselves too hard.

Their transformation happens as they surrender the need to prove, perform, and perfect — and embrace the peace, joy, and rest that come from walking with the Spirit.

🌟 Strengths:

  • Focused • Hard-working • Analytical • Responsible • Truth-loving • Visionary

⚠️ Growth Areas:

  • Over-criticism (of self or others) • Striving without rest • Difficulty with flexibility • Impatience

πŸ•Š️ Why Yielding Matters:

  • This blend often feels responsible for “holding it all together.” Yielding allows them to let God lead the way — and to trade tension for trust.

πŸ’‘ Core Needs:

  • Respect • Structure • Excellence • Opportunities to lead and improve

πŸ’” Discouragement Triggers:

  • Being misunderstood • Lack of follow-through in others • Feeling unappreciated or micromanaged

πŸ”₯ Under Stress:

  • They may withdraw, become overly intense, or silently carry the weight of unmet expectations

πŸ’ž How They Love:

  • Through consistency, action, responsibility, and loyalty. They may not always say it — but they show love by getting things done and being there.

πŸ‘₯ In Groups:

  • They lead naturally, plan thoroughly, and bring order to chaos. They need reminders that grace matters more than perfection.

πŸ€” Common Misunderstandings:

  • They may seem overly serious or too demanding, but inside, they care deeply and want to do what’s right.

πŸ™ Spiritual Strengths:

  • Conviction • Integrity • Leadership • Strategic thinking • Determined faith

πŸ’¬ How to Encourage Them:

  • Acknowledge their consistency. Affirm their heart, not just their results. Give them space to rest without guilt and remind them that they don’t need to do it all to be loved.

⚠️ Temperament Traps:

  • Perfectionism • Harsh inner dialogue • Emotional self-sufficiency • Over-functioning

➡️ Transformational Goal:

  • To move from performance to peace — leading with grace, serving with joy, and remembering that God’s approval is received, not earned.

πŸ› Prayer Focus for Today:

  • Pray that our Choleric/Melancholic sisters will experience the freedom of surrender. May they know that their worth is not in their work — but in their identity in Christ. Ask God to soften their striving, restore their joy, and strengthen their spirit.

πŸ’¬ Today’s Blog Reflections:

  • πŸ’‘ What is one thing you learned that will help you relate more thoughtfully to someone with this blend?
  • 🌿 If this is your blend, what truth or “aha moment” stood out to you today?
  • πŸ™ Write a short prayer — for someone with this blend or for yourself, if it applies.

πŸ“© Share your thoughts below in the blog comments — your words might be the very thing a sister like Tessie (or… me! πŸ˜…) needs today.

Having trouble posting your comment?

If you’re having any issues posting, feel free to send your reflection to me or to a sister who’s already posted — we’ll be happy to post it for you. πŸ’Œ
Let’s not allow hesitation or technical issues to keep anyone from joining the conversation.

πŸ’– A Heartfelt Thank You! πŸ’–

To every single one of you who took the time this week to uplift someone else — thank you. Your voice has added light, healing, and inspiration to this community. You’ve helped us grow stronger, together.

Join us again tomorrow, God’s willing, as we step into Week Three of our Temperament Transformation. There’s more insight to gain, more sisters to support, and more of God’s work unfolding in us. 🌱.

Let’s keep growing — with strength, joy, and a healthy dose of humility.
We don’t have to be perfect — we just have to be willing. πŸ”₯

Thank you Wisdom Seekers!

What a journey ! A very good one at that ! This has been my most favorite exercise of all I like the fact that they we were able to go in-depth about the different temperaments ,seek each out and pray for one another what a blessing, thanks sister Gale and thanks ladies πŸ’

    Sister Tessie & Sister Gale
    Two strong Sisters
A source of force, drive and discipline .
And just these 3 words alone really describe you in every way shape and form .
Sister Tessie πŸ’ from the interactions we had pairing up I sensed that hard working , responsible ,visioned person in you , even the way you express yourself in writing , your to the point ,mix no matters kinda way . lol and I like that , because with persons like you things will always be accomplished
I encourage you to avoid putting pressure on yourself especially when you feel overwhelmed at work , stay true to who you are and remember that God is with you always .

    Sister Gale🌺
Force drive and disciplined let me add another word fierce ..
The first time I met you I knew you had to be driven like this without having any knowledge of how the temperaments operate ..
I remember one time you had asked a question on the chat weather we wanted to participate in the session coming up and I didn’t respond right away , the next morning I woke up I realized my name was deleted from the chat , and in my mind I was like are you serious , getting to know you though I realized that’s how you are , it’s either your in or out and you had no time for games especially when it came to the things of God , so I want you to know that being deleted was not bad it was good , because it was an opportunity for me to really ask myself some hard questions. So thank you .. 😊
My way of relating with this blend I will allow perone to have they way because I realize that naturally it’s how they are , purpose driven , great leadership skills , determined and excellent in all they do ..

This was the Aha for me
    * They may withdraw, become overly intense, or silently carry the weight of unmet expectations

And again it’s just who you both are ..
so my prayer for you ladies ..

Father this morning I come before you today lifting up Sister Gale & Sister Tessie lord am seeking for your guidance and strength for them , may they acknowledge God that there worth is not found in they work or achievement but it’s found in you oh lord , help them lord to see that they identify is found in Christ and that you love and cherish them , when ever they feel pressured lord remind them of your unwavering love and grace , help them to continue trust in you and embrace the plans for they life , help them to know that everything they do is actually working for the lord , so whatever station there at you are the ultimate judge in all they do , help them to glorify you in all they do.
In Jesus name I pray amen ..
love each and every one of you
    Blessed Wednesday ❤️

  2. Good morning, everyone!
    Happy Wednesday!

Getting deeper into our Temperament Transformation journey, and wow — what a ride it's been! This past week has truly opened my eyes to the beauty and uniqueness of each temperament blend. It has helped me see others with fresh understanding and deeper appreciation. Everyday, I was excited to read what the next blend is made of.

Today, we focus on the Choleric/Melancholic blend - our amazing sisters, Tessie and Gale!

Sister Gale, getting to know you has been such a joy. I remember the first time I met you, I thought, "this lady is special!" You were bold, structured, and led with such excellence. And the more I’ve gotten to know you, the more I admire how you carry yourself with grace, clarity, and strength.
As someone with a Melancholic/Choleric blend myself, it’s been fascinating (and fun!) to see how these temperaments play out in real life. The dominant vs. secondary traits shows up in such meaningful ways!

One part of today’s reading stuck with me:
“This blend brings together drive and depth, intensity and integrity. These sisters are natural leaders who value structure, truth, and high standards. They have strong convictions and the discipline to follow through. But beneath the surface, they may carry unspoken burdens, internal pressure, or a tendency to push themselves too hard.”

    That hit me.
These women don’t just show up — they lead with vision, passion, and purpose. They get things done, and they do it with heart. They think deeply, care fiercely, and commit fully. And yet... they often carry the weight of it all in silence.

    My prayer:
Dear Lord, I lift my Choleric/Melancholic sisters who carry both strength and depth, vision, and conviction before you. You’ve gifted them with leadership, discipline, and a heart that longs to do what’s right. But Lord, meet them in their quiet places - the pressure to perform, to perfect and to keep it all together. Remind them that their worth isn’t in their work, but in You. Soften their inner critic. Speak peace over their busy minds. Restore the joy that stress has tried to steal. Breathe rest into their days and fresh strength into their hearts. Let them lead with grace, serve with joy, and always know they are seen, loved, and treasured, not for what they do, but simply for who they are in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a wonderful day everyone!! πŸ’›

    WOW! Choleric/Melancholic Blend
Temperament Topic: Purpose Refined — Grace Over Grit in the Choleric/Melancholic Journey

To Sister Penny & Sister Tessie — Aunty and Nieces πŸ™‚

Understanding the Choleric/Melancholic temperament has opened my eyes in a new and meaningful way. I’m truly grateful for the deeper insight into both of you Sister Penny and Sister Tessie.

To be honest, I’ve come to realize that this particular temperament blend is one of the most misunderstood. For a long time, my perception wasn’t accurate. I often found myself wondering, What could you possibly need from me? What could I give to someone who seems to have it all together?

That question alone reveals how wrong my perception was. And the truth is, without learning about this blend, I might have continued thinking that way. But now I see you more clearly as real people with real feelings, real struggles, and a deep need for love, support, and space to grow.

I was especially moved when I read this:
“We need your love. We need your prayers. And we need a little room to grow without feeling like we’re failing.”
That simple truth hit home. It reminded me that beneath the strong, structured, and capable exterior of the Choleric/Melancholic is a heart that needs grace just like the rest of us. You carry a lot but you shouldn't have to carry it all alone.

I also took time to reflect on the Discouragement Triggers associated with your blend:

    Being misunderstood
    Lack of follow-through in others
    Feeling unappreciated or micromanaged

These aren’t small things they matter deeply. And for me, reading and re-reading this temperament blend has been my way of saying: I want to understand you, not just observe you.

I also learned how you respond under stress:
    You may withdraw
    You may become overly intense
You may silently carry the weight of unmet expectations

So my encouragement to you is this: Stay aware of what’s happening in the moment. You don’t have to withdraw or carry the burden alone. Your presence, your perspective, and your contributions matter.

    This Scripture comes to mind:
“Make allowance for each other’s faults...” — Colossians 3:13a (NLT)
We’re all different. We don’t all do things the same way. But grace allows us to meet in the middle, to stay present, and to love each other well in the process.
So please, stay in the moment. Don’t pull away. Your voice is valuable. Your input is appreciated. And your journey refined by both purpose and grace is seen and celebrated.

Take a deep breath, Nurse Tessie. πŸ™‚ You’re doing better than you think.
    With love and gratitude,
Someone learning to understand you better, one grace-filled step at a time. ❣️

    Heavenly Father,
This morning, I lift up Sisters Penny and Tessie before You. Thank You for their lives, for the unique gifts they bring to the body of Christ, and for the strength and grace You’ve placed within them.
Lord, I pray that today they would experience the freedom that comes from a fully surrendered life. Remind them that their worth is not found in their work or their abilities, but in their unshakable identity in Christ.
    Soften every place of striving.
Restore the joy that only You can give.
And strengthen their spirits with Your peace and presence.
May they walk today with the quiet confidence that they are deeply loved, fully known, and held securely in Your hands.

    In Jesus’ name,
    Amen.

  6. Well, Well, Well! It’s the Choleric/Melancholic’s turn today.
Oh boy, the description is spot on in every way!

Truly, when I took the time to learn about my temperament and saw how God was helping me, I knew I had to share these insights with others who might be interested. I’m so glad I did.

I am still being transformed, and I can testify that there is a noticeable difference in my temperament.
Thanks be to God for His continuous work in me.

My “aha” moment has been understanding the pain of being misunderstood.
I used to wonder why it happened so often, but now I see it clearly—and I’ve learned to live with it in grace.

My prayer for us is that we allow God to mold us and make us into what He wants us to be.

Thank you all for your genuine input. It is truly appreciated. πŸ’–

    1. Hello everyone,
I am grateful for all of your encouragements and your prayers. To be completely honest all that was mentioned about the blend described me right on point. I am continually working on not being so hard on others and allowing grace to be evident in my association with others.
Sister Alanda, being a Choleric/Melancholic blend I was also contacted about my tardiness over the last 2 weeks; I expected nothing less from a cho/MelπŸ˜€.l would have done the same.

I must also apologize to everyone, I am going through a bit of transition in my life and for that reason I was a little tardy in my approach on the blog. No excuses, I will adjust myself and get it done.
Ladies have a blessed rest of the day.❤️

  10. Greetings to one and all!!

    Understanding the Choleric/Melancholic Temperament Blend.
Topic: Purpose Refined — Grace Over Grit in the Choleric/Melancholic Journey

Today we focus on Tessie and Lady Gale.

The traits as discribed in this temparament blend are of powerful leadership qualitiesis, their blend brings together drive and depth, intensity and integrity.

I agree that you sisters are natural leaders who value structure, truth, and high standards, because is is evident in the way Lady Gale functions in ministry.

For Sister Tessie, I will go with the flow because, I did not have such interactions with you, but, I am confident that your Mentorship under your aunt, would have bring out some of those "like traits and qualities", such as your strong convictions and discipline to follow through which is evidently seen in Lady Gale's dedication during the series of this proverbs studies. - For this I can confidently say that I will be forever grateful.

One thing I have learned that will help me to relate more thoughtfully to someone with this blend, is that beneath the surface, you may carry unspoken burdens, internal pressure, or a tendency to push yourselves too hard.

I acknowledge your consistency and affirm that you are not just surface individuals, but that your strength not only comes from deep within your heart, but also from God.

Your are results driven and my encouragement for you today is to do what you can, but take time to rest without feeling guilty, please know that we love and appreciate you and all you are doing, so you don’t need to do it all to be loved., because you are already loved. My final encouragement is that you surrender the need to prove, perform, and perfect — and embrace the peace, joy, and rest that come from walking with the Spirit. Xoxo

Heavenly Father I pray that our Choleric/Melancholic sisters will experience the freedom of surrender. Help them to walk in your spirit and focus on you oh Lord, may they undrstand that their worth is not in their work — but in their identity in Christ. Lord I ask you to soften their striving, restore their joy, and strengthen their spirit in Jesus name Amen!!

Grace over Grit in the Choleric/Melancholic

    Understanding the Choleric/Melancholic Blend - May 14
I like this temperament blend. To me they are strong and fearless. They fight a good fight.
    Question:
What is one thing you learned that will help you relate more thoughtfully to someone with this blend differently?

I learned that this blend brings together drive and depth, intensity and integrity. They are natural leaders, they take charge because they want to see things done well.

I learned that without the transformative work of the Holy Spirit this blend can be a force to be reckoned with.
I once heard Tessie say that she is not afraid of anyone and to her that is scary.
Tessie we need people with your temperament blend who like David is not afraid to take on the Goliaths.😊

Sister Penny, beneath that force of intensity I see someone that cares deeply for others. You are very influential in their lives because you want the best for them, and to see them live up to their God given potential.

Lord, I bring to You my Sisters with the choleric/melancholic blend to You.
Lord, I thank You for them, help them to appreciate the temperament You have blessed them with, help them to surrender to you so that they may experience freedom.
Help them understand that their worth is not in the things they do, but rather in You . You are the one who adds value to them. I pray You will restore their joy. Give unto them the joy of You salvation, strengthen their spirit once more.
This I ask in Jesus name
    Good night everyone

  16. Hello hello - sorry I am late posting .

I knew Mommy and Tessie were Cholerics, but I didn't know they also had Melancholic in their mix! This reading really helped me understand both of these strong, powerful women more.

I learned that they show their love by getting things done and by being consistent, taking action, responsibility, and being loyal. I have seen these characteristics in both Mommy and Tessie, and now I know that these are ways they show love. I did not know this about their temperament before but now I realize their commitment and dependability are ways they show love.
The Choleric/Melancholic personality blend is tricky because the choleric side makes them appear 'tough' but their melancholic side is gentle. This tough/gentle mix needs to be nurtured and as the reading states, "They may seem overly serious or too demanding, but inside, they care deeply and want to do what’s right."

My prayer is that through temperament transformation, the Holy Spirit will help surrender the need to always be in control and submit to God's leading. I pray that the people around them will come to understand and appreciate the wonderful way God has gifted them. I also pray that God will help them to silence their inner critic and help them become gracious towards themselves and others.

In Jesus name I pray - Amen!
