Proverbs 15 — A Soft Answer, A Wise Heart

Daily Growth Through
L.I.G.H.T.
or
L.E.A.N.-I.N.

Good "Worship Celebration" Day, Wisdom Seekers,

Welcome to Day 15 of our Proverbs journey in June! Today’s chapter gently challenges us to think about how we respond, speak, and receive correction—all deeply connected to our temperament and our transformation in Christ.

To support your growth and meet you right where you are, we’re offering two participation options.

🔹 Option 1: L.I.G.H.T. — Choose just ONE simple action.

🔹 Option 2: L.E.A.N.-I.N. — Choose ONE or more thoughtful prompts for deeper reflection.

🔹 You can switch between options daily or combine them—whatever works for your season.

🌸 Whether you share a full reflection or simply say, “I read,” know this—your voice matters, and your journey is meaningful. Every step you take is part of your transformation, and we’re cheering you on. 💚 Don’t worry about how much others are posting—just read, receive, and be refreshed. This space isn’t about comparison or competition—it’s about complementing each other as we grow in wisdom together.

📖 Today’s Chapter: Proverbs 15

“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”Proverbs 15:1
“The tongue of the wise makes knowledge acceptable…”Proverbs 15:2
“A soothing tongue is a tree of life…”Proverbs 15:4
“A person finds joy in giving an apt reply—how good is a timely word!”Proverbs 15:23
“Whoever heeds life-giving correction will be at home among the wise.”Proverbs 15:31

🌱 Gentle Reflection:
Today’s verses are full of heart checks. Take a moment to quietly consider:

  • How does your temperament handle correction?

  • Do your words build up or stir conflict?

  • Are you slow to speak, quick to listen, or the other way around?

You don’t need to post answers to these—just allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you through them.

✅ Option 1: L.I.G.H.T. Involvement

(Quick & Simple—Choose only ONE to post in the comments)

Letter    What to Post   Sample Response
L    Leave a verse that stood out   “The verse that stood out to me today is … ”
I        Indicate you read the blog   “I read the blog.”
G    Glance at the reflection question   “I glanced at the reflection question.”
H    Highlight one word/phrase   “The word that struck me is … ”
T    Take a moment to stay connected    “Hello everyone!”

🕯️ Perfect for busy days or quiet moments when you just want to stay close.

💬 Option 2: L.E.A.N.-I.N. Involvement

(Go Deeper—Choose ONE or more prompts to reflect on and optionally post)

These prompts are designed to help you pause, reflect, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide your transformation. You do not need to answer all (or any) in the comments unless led—just reflect as part of your process:

Letter        Reflection QuestionsFocus
L        Look into today’s Proverbs:  What verse speaks directly to your
        temperament?
Awareness
E        Examine your heart: Is there an area your temperament that is
        being challenged or corrected today?
Honesty
A        Apply one verse: How could this wisdom change your reactions,
        words, or thinking?
Application
N        Notice something new: Is there a new mindset, response,
        or habit to embrace?
Renewal
I            Invite the Holy Spirit: Where is He gently nudging you to yield
        or grow?
Surrender
N            Nurture your growth: What will help you walk this out
        —prayer,  journaling, or action?
Consistency

🌿 Take your time with these. Transformation isn’t rushed—it’s walked out, step by step.

📝 Your Response:

  1. Choose your option: L.I.G.H.T., L.E.A.N.-I.N., or a blend.

  2. Post your response in the comments below—even just “I read” counts.

  3. Encourage someone else with a reply, emoji, or uplifting word if you're able.

📌 As we read Proverbs 15, let’s ask God for gentle answers, wise tongues, and hearts open to correction. This is how He shapes our temperaments into Christlikeness.

We’re growing together—one Proverb at a time.

A great day to all!

    Happy Sunday!

    I Choose L in LIGHT

The verse that stood out to me today is Proverbs 15:4:

“Speech that heals is like a life-giving tree, but a perverse speech breaks the spirit.”

As I continue working on transforming my Sanguine temperament, I’m learning how important it is to be intentional with my speech. What I say, how I say it, and when I say it.

Wiersbe said, "Speaking the right words is like offering nourishing, health-giving food." What a powerful image. There’s something truly beautiful about being able to speak life into someone, to use words that uplift, encourage, and even bring healing to a broken spirit. On the other hand, careless or harsh words can crush the very heart of a person.

This verse reminds me that transformation isn’t just about changing my actions, but also about aligning my words with God’s wisdom, words that bring life, not harm.

    Have A Wonderful Day!!

  4. Good Sunday morning all!

    I choose A in L.E.A.N.-I.N
    A. Apply one verse: How could this wisdom change your reactions,
    words, or thinking?

Whoever heeds life-giving correction will be at home among the wise…Proverbs 15:31

I tend to take correction very personally. I overthink it, internalize it, and sometimes even question my worth because of it. But Proverbs 15 reminded me that correction isn’t condemnation—it’s life-giving.
I’m learning that when correction is given with love and received with humility, it becomes a tool for growth, not shame. As much as my personality craves perfection, I’m learning to welcome correction as a path to wisdom—not a sign of failure.

    Have a wonderful day ladies!
