Proverbs 17:27 NIV
[27] The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint, and whoever has understanding is even-tempered.

G – Growth
π± Where do you want to grow based on this chapter?
Today I pray that I will grow in knowledge and understanding so that I will use my words with restraint in my relationships. As someone having the Melancholic Temperament, the growth isn't to restrain my words more but to use the knowledge and wisdom of God, not to depend on myself when dealing with others.
Good morning all,

Proverbs 17
Today I choose the LIGHT option
G – Growth
Where do you want to grow based on this chapter?
Proverbs 17:27 says, “Can you bridle your tongue when your heart is under pressure?
That’s how you show that you are wise. An understanding heart keeps you cool, calm, and collected, no matter what you’re facing.” (TPT)
This verse really speaks to where I want to grow, especially when my heart is under pressure.
It’s easy to seem wise when everything is calm. But when I’m stressed, frustrated, or emotionally triggered, my first instinct isn’t always to pause or respond with grace.
I want to grow in bridling my tongue when I'm under pressure, not just biting it, but letting God shape what comes out of my heart. That means letting peace rule even when I feel anxious or misunderstood.
This verse shows me that true wisdom isn't just about having the right words—it’s about having the right spirit. I want to be someone who stays cool, calm, and collected, not because I’m suppressing things, but because I’ve surrendered them to God.
It’s a daily practice, but I believe this kind of emotional discipline is a big part of spiritual maturity. That’s where I’m asking God to grow me.
Have a wonderful day!
Good day every one

Hi Ladies,
ReplyDeleteThe verse that spoke to me today was, ‘A rebuke goes deeper into one who has understanding Than a hundred blows into a fool.’
I opted for L.I.G.H.T today. Specifically,
I – Insight
π “God showed me that I need to consider my approach to criticism .”
Sometimes, I get caught up in a person's delivery that I miss their message. Honestly, unfortunately, I do the same with the Holy Spirit (reading the verse alone was a rebukeπ ). My mind becomes bound with questions like, ‘Why was he so angry?’ or ‘Why did she speak to me like that?’
Imagine, I even begin questioning the motive of the one who knows all. ‘God, why didn’t you let it happen this way?’ or ‘God, why did it have to hurt like that?’
I get so caught up in the messenger that I miss the message, and this is simply proof that I lack understanding. As the verse tells me, it's either I have understanding and can recognize a rebuke, or I am a fool with little understanding willing to take a hundred blows and STILL not get the message.
Now, I know I’m no fool, so I’ll keep reading and discerning my father’s voice because ‘a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel.’ ~Proverbs 1:5
