“Understand Me Before You Judge Me”

πŸ’– Let’s Grow in Understanding Together

Sometimes we misread strength as harshness, and confidence as arrogance. But when we slow down to understand how God wired each of us, we begin to see not just personalities — but purpose.

Today, we’re leaning in to hear from our Choleric sisters — strong-willed, goal-driven women who often carry the weight of responsibility with intensity and determination. While they may come across as direct or even controlling, their hearts often long to protect, lead, and accomplish God’s will with excellence.

Let’s pause and give space for their voice.

This is your moment to better understand them — and yourself — as we continue learning what it means to truly love our neighbours as ourselves (Mark 12:31). πŸ’¬πŸ”₯

“Understand Me Before You Judge Me”

πŸ’š Let’s Grow in Understanding Together

Sometimes gentleness is mistaken for weakness, and calm for apathy. But God made the Phlegmatic with quiet strength, peacemaking wisdom, and a steady presence. In a world that rushes, Phlegmatics pause. In a world that reacts, they reflect. Yet even their silence can be misunderstood.

Today, we’re listening with fresh ears to our Phlegmatic sisters — calm, kindhearted women who often keep the peace while carrying quiet burdens. Their love is consistent, but often goes unspoken. Their strength is in their steadiness, but sometimes they are overlooked or misread as disengaged.

This is your moment to better understand them — and yourself — as we continue learning how to love our neighbours as ourselves (Mark 12:31) and live without casting stumbling blocks in each other’s way (Romans 14:13). πŸ’¬πŸŒΏ

πŸͺž Reflection

Some temperaments speak loudly; others speak with their presence. The Phlegmatic often chooses peace over pressure, listening over lecturing, and stability over spotlight. Their desire to avoid conflict can make them seem detached — but beneath that calm exterior may be real concern, deep processing, or silent stress.

Today, let’s choose understanding over assumption.
Let’s listen before labeling, and reflect before reacting.

πŸ“– Scripture Focus
“Therefore let’s not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this: not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother’s or sister’s way.”
Romans 14:13 (NASB)

“You shall love your neighbour as yourself.”
Mark 12:31 (NASB)

🌿 A Message from the Phlegmatic Blends

πŸ‘‰ "When I seem quiet, slow to respond, or uninterested, please don’t assume I don’t care — what I really need you to know is that __________."

✍️ Phlegmatic sisters:
Complete the sentence honestly and share your truth with the group in the comments section below. You may type it out or copy and paste. We truly want to hear your voice.

πŸ’ Optional Ways to Complete the Sentence:

  • "...I’m carefully thinking through my feelings and don’t want to say the wrong thing."

  • "...I care deeply but struggle to express it right away."

  • "...I’m avoiding conflict, not people."

  • "...I need emotional safety before I open up."

  • "...I’m tired and trying to preserve peace without creating tension."

  • "...I’m listening more than I’m speaking — that’s how I show respect."

  • "...I often sacrifice my voice for the sake of peace, but I do want to be included."

Feel free to write your own if none of these fully capture your heart. Your voice matters.

πŸ’¬ ✍️ Complete the sentences below:

• I can better understand someone who is quiet, avoids conflict, or seems disengaged by…
• I can be a loving presence when a Phlegmatic sister is emotionally overwhelmed or silently burdened by…

πŸ’ Optional Answers Below to Help You Reflect and Respond:

I can better understand someone who is quiet, avoids conflict, or seems disengaged by…

  • …recognizing that peace is their priority, not indifference.

  • …giving them time and emotional safety to open up.

  • …respecting their slower pace without assuming they’re uninterested.

  • …asking thoughtful questions without pressuring quick answers.

  • …remembering that quietness can mean deep thought, not distance.

I can be a loving presence when a Phlegmatic sister is emotionally overwhelmed or silently burdened by…
  • …offering gentle presence rather than loud solutions.

  • …giving her room to rest while reminding her she’s not forgotten.

  • …affirming her even when she doesn’t ask for it.

  • …helping her express what she’s holding in without judgment.

  • …noticing when she withdraws and checking in quietly but intentionally.

“Understand Me Before You Judge Me”

πŸ’› Let’s Grow in Understanding Together

It’s easy to enjoy the energy of a Sanguine — and just as easy to misunderstand them. Their joy may be mistaken for immaturity, their openness mistaken for insincerity. But those with a Sanguine temperament reflect a part of God’s nature that is relational, expressive, and full of life.

Today, we’re slowing down to better understand our Sanguine sisters — women who often bring warmth, encouragement, and laughter, yet may quietly struggle with inconsistency, insecurity, or the fear of being rejected or forgotten.

This is your moment to better understand them — and yourself — as we continue learning how to love our neighbours as ourselves (Mark 12:31) and follow Jesus’ teaching to look beyond appearances and extend compassion (John 7:24). πŸ’¬✨

πŸͺž Reflection

God’s people come in many expressions. While some process inwardly, Sanguines live outwardly — talking through their feelings, seeking connection, and lighting up rooms. Yet even they need to feel heard, not judged. Under the laughter may be loneliness. Behind the cheerfulness, a longing to be taken seriously.

Today, let’s choose understanding over assumption.
Let’s listen before labeling, and reflect before reacting.

πŸ“– Scripture Focus
“Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
John 7:24 (NASB)

“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Mark 12:31 (NASB)

  • "...I’m genuinely excited, but I still long for deeper conversations."

  • "...I struggle with follow-through but truly want to be dependable."

  • "...I fear being misunderstood or seen as ‘too much.’"

  • "...I thrive when I feel welcomed and wanted, not just tolerated."

Feel free to write your own if none of these fully capture your heart. Your voice matters.

  • …not mistaking their enthusiasm for a lack of depth.

  • …listening with presence, even if the topic changes quickly.

🌿 Sunday Reflection: Something to Think About

🌿 Sunday Reflection: Something to Think About

A BLESSED SUNDAY TO ALL!

Temperament Transformation — Proverbs 18

Before reading today’s reflection, please pause and read Proverbs 18.
This chapter teaches us about the power of words, the danger of pride, the safety of wisdom, and the blessing of humility.

Each temperament blend faces unique struggles in these areas.
Today, let the Word of God and the Holy Spirit reveal what needs refining in you.

As you read through the reflection points — especially your blend —
Type “Amen” in the comments if it speaks to your heart.
That Amen is your agreement to keep growing and yielding to God’s transformation.

πŸ”΅πŸŸ’ Melancholic / Phlegmatic — Alanda, Alynthia, Ann C, Deborah, Jesmyn, Laura, Trudy, Michelle

Your quiet strength is admirable, but Proverbs 18 warns about isolation:
“A person who isolates himself seeks his own desire; he quarrels against all sound wisdom.” (v.1)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I pulling away when I should be seeking wise counsel and community?

🟒🟑 Melancholic / Sanguine — Hazel

You’re deeply relational, but easily hurt by words.
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” (v.21)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I guarding my heart against offense, or letting careless words define my worth?

🟑🟒 Sanguine / Phlegmatic — Cassandra

You love conversations, but Proverbs 18 reminds you:
“A fool does not delight in understanding, but in revealing his own mind.” (v.2)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I listening to understand, or just waiting for my turn to speak?

πŸŸ’πŸ”΅ Phlegmatic / Melancholic — Claudia, Jacintha, Anne

Your reflective nature is a gift, but don’t let fear silence needed words.
“The words of a person’s mouth are deep waters.” (v.4)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I holding back words of wisdom because I fear confrontation?

πŸ”΅πŸ”΄ Melancholic / Choleric — Cindy, Glenda, Theresa

You value truth and excellence, but beware:
“Before destruction the heart of a person is haughty, but humility goes before honor.” (v.12)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I approaching correction with pride, or clothed in humility?

πŸ”΄πŸ”΅ Choleric / Melancholic — Gale, Tessie

You are bold and direct, but Proverbs 18 says:
“A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city.” (v.19)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I being mindful of how my tone affects relationships?

πŸŸ‘πŸ”΄ Sanguine / Choleric — Alison, Debbie

Your energy leads well, but Proverbs reminds you:
“The one who states his case first seems right, until another comes and examines him.” (v.17)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I rushing to conclusions without hearing the whole story?

πŸŸ’πŸ”΄ Phlegmatic / Choleric — Maria, Beverly

You avoid conflict, but when pushed, you push back hard.
“A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” (v.15:1 — cross-reference)
➡️ Something to Think About:
Am I responding gently when confronted, or reacting out of bottled-up frustration?

πŸ“– Final Thought

Transformation is a daily yielding.
As we meditate on Proverbs 18, remember:

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe.” (v.10)

Let’s keep running to Him,
letting His Word shape our responses,
and allowing the Holy Spirit to refine our hearts.

If this reflection speaks to you, type “Amen” in the comments.
Together, let’s keep growing — with wisdom, humility, and grace. 🌿

"I trust you are having, or have had, a wonderful day of worship."

Yielded for Transformation

Theme Scripture:
“Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts. — Zechariah 4:6 (NASB)

✨ Good day, Wisdom Seekers!

We’ve just completed Week Two of our Temperament Transformation Journey — and what a week it was! Seven powerful blends were highlighted. Seven unique ways God has wired us — and seven invitations from the Holy Spirit to surrender, grow, and be transformed. And one wisdom seeker gave birth to a son!  We have a lot to be thankful for.

Each of us carries a beautiful design, but also inner struggles that can hinder us from becoming all God created us to be. As we learned more about ourselves, the Holy Spirit was gently showing us how to let go of old habits and step into new freedom.

πŸ’¬ Today’s invitation:

  1. Go back and read the info and review for your temperament blend if you haven't done so as yet.

  2. Reflect on the question provided below. Choose a response from the ones provided— or write your own response.

  3. Share your answer in the comments below and let us know how we can pray for you this week by choosing one answer at the end of this post.

Phlegmatic/Melancholic (πŸ”΅πŸŸ’)

Sisters: Claudia, Jacintha, Anne

Theme: Calm and Caring – Gentle Wisdom in Action
Scripture: “In quietness and trust is your strength.” — Isaiah 30:15

Why Yielding Matters:
These sisters often stay behind the scenes, quietly wrestling with hesitation and fear of saying the wrong thing. The Holy Spirit calls them to rise with quiet confidence and use their voice for good.

Transformation Question:
Now that you understand how God values your quiet strength, how will you begin to step out of hiding and allow Him to use your voice?

A) I’ll stay silent and safe — I’m still afraid to speak.
B) I want to speak, but I need more time and reassurance.
C) I will speak when prompted, trusting the Spirit’s gentle nudge.

Melancholic/Choleric (πŸ”΅πŸ”΄)

Sisters: Cindy, Glenda, Theresa

Theme: Strength with Surrender – Purpose under Grace
Scripture: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9

Why Yielding Matters:
This blend often lives under self-imposed pressure to perform. The Spirit reminds them that God's grace is the true measure of success, not flawless outcomes.

Transformation Question:
After learning that God values your heart over your performance, how will you begin releasing perfectionism?

A) I still feel like I must perform to be accepted.
B) I want to release it, but it’s hard to let go of control.
C) I will start by welcoming grace and trusting God with the outcome.

Melancholic/Phlegmatic (πŸ”΅πŸŸ’)

Sisters: Alanda, Alynthia, Deborah, Jesmyn, Laura, Trudy, Michelle

Theme: Quiet Strength – Embracing Steadfast Grace
Scripture: “Cast your burden upon the Lord and He will sustain you.” — Psalm 55:22

Why Yielding Matters:
They are caring and deeply reflective — but often carry silent burdens alone. The Spirit invites them to release the pressure and step into Spirit-led courage.

Transformation Question:
Now that you’ve seen how your thoughtfulness is a gift and not a weakness, how will you begin to release your silent burdens?

A) I’m not ready to open up — it feels too risky.
B) I want to share, but only in safe spaces.
C) I will begin releasing my fears to God and trusted sisters.

Sanguine/Phlegmatic (🟑🟒)

Sister: Cassandra

Theme: Peaceful Joy – Anchoring Presence with Purpose
Scripture: “Let your light shine before others.” — Matthew 5:16

Why Yielding Matters:
Cheerful and calm, these sisters bring joy — but sometimes avoid consistency or tough decisions. Yielding calls them to grow in spiritual steadiness without losing their warmth.

Transformation Question:
After seeing that consistency is part of your calling, how will you commit to showing up more intentionally?

A) I’m still scared of pressure and responsibility.
B) I’ll try, but I might need support and reminders.
C) I will take one consistent step forward, trusting God to help me grow.

Sanguine/Choleric (πŸŸ‘πŸ”΄)

Sisters: Alison, Debbie

Theme: Energized with Intention – Surrendered Strength
Scripture: “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord.” — Psalm 37:23

Why Yielding Matters:
Bold and quick-moving, these sisters often lead with charisma. But the Spirit is calling them to slow down, listen, and let Him direct their steps with purpose.

Transformation Question:
Now that you’ve learned to value God’s timing over your own momentum, what will change about how you lead?

A) I still struggle to slow down — I trust my instincts more than God’s prompting.
B) I want to wait on God, but I need to develop more patience.
C) I will begin asking God to lead before I take the lead.

Melancholic/Sanguine (🟒🟑)

Sister: Hazel

Theme: Thoughtful Light – Stabilizing Emotion through Truth
Scripture: “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You.” — Isaiah 26:3

Why Yielding Matters:
This blend is expressive, creative, and emotionally rich. But the Spirit is drawing them toward emotional stability, helping them walk in truth even when feelings fluctuate.

Transformation Question:
Now that you’ve seen your identity in Christ is your anchor, how will you respond when emotions begin to take over?

A) I’ll ride the wave of emotions — it’s how I cope.
B) I’ll try to pause and reflect but may still be swayed.
C) I will ground myself in Scripture and ask the Spirit to guide my heart.

Choleric/Melancholic (πŸ”΄πŸ”΅)

Sisters: Gale, Tessie

Theme: Purpose Refined – Grace Over Grit
Scripture: “Cease striving and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

Why Yielding Matters:
Strong, structured, and responsible, this blend often pushes themselves to achieve — sometimes at the cost of peace. The Spirit is calling them to release control and lead with grace, not just grit.

Transformation Question:
After realizing that your value isn’t in your results, how will you begin to rest and let go?

A) I don’t know how — I’m afraid to lose control.
B) I’m trying to trust, but I still feel responsible for everything.
C) I will pause, pray, and choose grace over performance.

πŸ™πŸΎ What Can We Pray with You For?

As we begin this third week in May, let’s pray for one another. Drop a quick note in the comments and let us know how we can lift you up.

What would you like the group to pray with you for this week?

A) Pray that I will fully surrender control and stop relying on my own strength.
B) Pray for consistency and courage to walk in what the Spirit is showing me.
C) Pray that I will stop hiding, speak up, and let God use me — even when it feels uncomfortable.

πŸ“© You can type your answer from the options above, and feel free to add a few personal words.
Your vulnerability may unlock strength for someone else, too. πŸ’–

“Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Let’s keep walking yielded — not perfectly, but prayerfully.

Have great day everyone.

Good day, Wisdom Seekers! πŸ‘‹πŸΎ

I can see the smile on your face Sister Debbie!

πŸ‘ Sisters with this blend:

Alison and Debbie

Let’s surround them with gratitude, prayers, and affirmations today!

πŸ” Understanding the Sanguine/Choleric Temperament

This blend is a vibrant spark of excitement and direction. These women are warm, fun-loving, and naturally gifted with influence. They are confident in groups, persuasive in conversation, and quick to take the lead. But while they shine publicly, they may battle with internal pride, emotional neglect, or impatience with others.

Their transformation comes from learning to slow down, listen deeply, and submit their drive to the timing and wisdom of the Holy Spirit. It’s not about losing their fire — but about letting God direct it.

            πŸ”΅πŸŸ’ Melancholic/Phlegmatic Blend

🌿 Temperament Topic: Quiet Strength
— Embracing Steadfast Grace in the Melancholic/Phlegmatic Journey

Good day, Wisdom Seekers! πŸ‘‹πŸΎ

Thank you to all who shared yesterday’s reflections and encouragement for our Melancholic/Choleric sisters. Your words added light and wisdom to the day. Let’s keep showing up with grace and presence as we continue this daily transformation walk together. ❤️πŸ”΅

✨ A quick reminder: This journey is daily, not rushed. No need to catch up — simply engage today. If you feel led to go back and reflect on earlier blends, you’re most welcome to do so!

πŸ“… Today, May 10, we turn our focus to the πŸ”΅πŸŸ’ Melancholic/Phlegmatic blend. These women are quiet treasures — dependable, thoughtful, and deeply committed to doing what’s right, even when no one is watching.

πŸ‘ Sisters with this blend:

Alanda, Alynthia, Deborah, Jesmyn, Laura, Trudy, and Michelle

Let’s surround them with our prayers, support, and gratitude today.

πŸ” Understanding the Melancholic/Phlegmatic Temperament

To understand this blend is to see dignified steadiness in motion. They are reflective and responsible, gentle yet principled. They bring calm into chaos and order into confusion. But inside, they may wrestle with self-doubt, fear of failure, or hesitation to speak up. They often carry burdens silently, seeking peace for others while privately sorting through their own emotions.

Their transformation comes through surrender — trusting God with their private pressures, releasing the fear of mistakes, and believing that their stillness is a powerful form of strength.

🌿 Strengths:

  • Reliable • Caring • Thoughtful • Organized • Loyal • Conscientious

⚠️ Growth Areas:

  • Tendency to overthink • Hesitation • Avoiding conflict • Bottling up feelings

πŸ•Š️ Why Yielding Matters:

  • This blend can get stuck in internal processing. Yielding to the Spirit gives them boldness to act, speak, and step into what God is calling them to — even when it’s uncomfortable.

πŸŸ’πŸ”΅ May 8 - Understanding the Phlegmatic/Melancholic - Quiet Strength, Bold Surrender

Hello!

Welcome to Week 2 of May on our Temperament Transformation Journey!

Each day this week, we will focus on one of the seven blends represented in our Wisdom Seekers' group. One will be posted daily. Please take note of the heading in case you miss a day, so you can go back and post your response.

I invite everyone to share from the heart and to interact with the reflections of others, which may mean revisiting the blog after you've posted. Let’s make time to encourage one another and grow in understanding together.

We begin by focusing on the πŸŸ’πŸ”΅ Phlegmatic/Melancholic blend — a temperament known for its calm presence, deep thoughtfulness, and faithful heart. These sisters often serve quietly and reflect deeply, but may struggle to act boldly when God calls them to step forward.

The Holy Spirit desires to transform their gentle consistency into courageous surrender. As we read, reflect, and pray, let’s ask God to show us how this blend brings beauty to the body of Christ — and how He longs to shape it further for His glory.

    🟑🟒 Sanguine/Phlegmatic - May Week 1

    🟑🟒 Sanguine/Phlegmatic

    P.R.O.M.P.T.S. Bible Study

    🌿 Introduction

As a Sanguine/Phlegmatic, you are warm, friendly, easygoing, and fun-loving. You bring encouragement, optimism, and peace into the lives of others. People naturally feel safe and uplifted around you.

But at times, this blend may struggle with avoiding confrontation, lacking follow-through, or putting off spiritual disciplines. You may tend to go with the flow even when God is prompting you to grow. You often pour into others — but forget to pour into yourself spiritually.

πŸ’‘ Transformation for you means embracing intentionality, feeding your spirit with truth daily, and learning to be consistent in walking with God — not just when it’s easy or exciting.

    This study reminds you:
🌱 Even small seeds of obedience, planted daily, grow into powerful fruit in God’s hands.

    πŸ“– Scripture Passages

    John 15:4–5 (NASB):

“Remain in Me, and I in you. Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself... so neither can you, unless you remain in Me.
I am the vine, you are the branches; the one who remains in Me, and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”

    Proverbs 13:4 (NASB):

“The soul of the lazy one craves and gets nothing, but the soul of the diligent is made prosperous.”

    πŸŒ€ P.R.O.M.P.T.S Bible Study

    πŸ™ P – Pray (Thursday)

    Prayer:

Father, thank You for making me joyful, gentle, and caring. Help me stay rooted in You, not just emotionally but intentionally. Teach me to remain in Your presence and develop spiritual consistency. May my life bear fruit that lasts. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

    πŸ“– R – Read (Thursday)

Read John 15:4–5 and Proverbs 13:4 in different Bible versions (NASB, NLT, AMP, TPT, ESV, etc.).

    πŸͺ· Theme:
Lasting joy and fruit come not from personality, but from abiding daily in Jesus and cultivating spiritual diligence.

    πŸ’¬ Blog Comments:
Have you read today’s scriptures in more than one version? Which one impacted your heart?

    πŸ‘€ O – Observe (Friday)

    Reflect on the following:

    • Who is the source of all lasting fruit?

    • What happens when we remain (abide) in Christ?

    • When are you tempted to substitute fun or rest for spiritual growth?

    • Where in your life do you need more consistency?

    • Why is diligence important for spiritual prosperity?

    • How do joy and discipline work together in your walk with God?

    Key Words:
    Remain • Vine • Branches • Fruit • Diligent • Crave • Prosperous

    πŸ’¬ Blog Comments:
Did you answer the observation questions? Share “Yes,” “Not Yet,” or what stood out.

    M – Meaning (Saturday/Sunday)

    🌼 Simple Summary:
Joyful fruitfulness comes through consistent connection to Jesus, not just occasional inspiration or emotion. Growth requires diligence.

    🌼 Word Definitions:

    • Remain (menō): To stay, dwell, continue, abide in relationship.

    • Fruit (karpos): Result or outcome of a life rooted in God.

    • Diligent (charuts): Sharp, determined, hardworking, persistent.

    • Prosperous (dashen): To be enriched, refreshed, or abundantly supplied.

    πŸ’¬ Blog Comments:
Did you explore the word meanings or use a commentary or study Bible?

    πŸ“ Reflection:
Where do I need to trade spiritual laziness for daily discipline — and joyful abiding?

    πŸ’‘ P – Practice (Sunday)

πŸͺ· Choose one or write your own:

    • Set aside 10 minutes each morning this week for uninterrupted time with God.

    • Write John 15:4 on a card and place it by your phone or mirror.
