Theme: Teachability: The Heart That Listens, Learns, and Lives Wisely
Scripture Focus: "A man who hardens his neck after much rebuke will suddenly be broken beyond remedy." — Proverbs 29:1 (NASB)
🔍 DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT
Teachability is a treasured trait in the kingdom of God. Proverbs 29 echoes this over and over — from the opening warning against resisting correction (v.1) to the rewards of listening to instruction and seeking justice.
A teachable spirit is one that allows God’s wisdom to enter, correct, and guide. This is more than being open-minded — it’s being heart-softened and humility-driven.
Let’s face it: our temperaments react to correction differently.
But God's Word invites every temperament to embrace teachability as a path to peace, purpose, and powerful living.
💡 TEMPERAMENT REFLECTIONS
🔴 Choleric Clara
– Let Go of the Need to Always Be Right
You're confident and driven, but be cautious: pride can close your ears. Proverbs 29:1 is a warning for leaders and influencers like you. True strength listens.
🧭 Wisdom Tip: Power without teachability leads to downfall.
🛐 Prayer: “Lord, help me lead with humility and receive correction with grace.”
🟡 Sanguine Sandra
– Pause and Process Before Reacting
Your charm shines, but sometimes you deflect correction with a joke or distraction. Don't miss wisdom in the moment. Proverbs 29:11 says, "A fool always loses his temper, but a wise person holds it back."
🧭 Wisdom Tip: Listen deeply. Don’t avoid truth by changing the subject.
🛐 Prayer: “Jesus, help me welcome loving correction as a friend, not a threat.”
🔵 Melancholic Marla
– Don’t Take Correction as Condemnation
You're thoughtful and detail-oriented, but criticism may feel personal. Yet, correction is often protection. Proverbs 29:15 reminds us, "A child who gets his own way brings shame."
🧭 Wisdom Tip: Let correction refine, not define you.
🛐 Prayer: “Father, soften my heart and steady my emotions when I’m corrected.”
🟢 Phlegmatic Paula
– Don't Avoid Hard Truths to Keep the Peace
You seek peace, but teachability also requires facing tough feedback. Verse 25 warns about fear of man: "The fear of man brings a snare, but the one who trusts in the Lord will be protected."
🧭 Wisdom Tip: People-pleasing can prevent growth. Truth, even when tough, brings life.
🛐 Prayer: “Lord, make me brave to hear truth and grow, even when it’s uncomfortable.”

Don’t Take Correction as Condemnation
The heart that listens learns and live wisely
* When was a time you resisted correction but later saw God’s wisdom in it?
I remember a few years ago myself and my husband wanted to get a vehicle 🚗..
They was particular institution giving loans so we decided to sign up with them , so we had to start saving our money with them in order for us to go through the whole process , we were excited because based on how they spoke like it was a sure thing , we did the necessary running around , bring in all our documents and we waited .. On that said day I got a phone call
Stating that the loan was not approved , I asked why she said give myself a few months and then we can reapply , I got so angry 😠 I stormed out of work went to the institution and spoke with the young lady that denied the loan , she said Miss Harris (at the time )
Just give us time some time keep saving with us and then you can come back , I said angrily please let me withdraw my money , that day I took out all I had from that account , I was angry .. a few months later Covid showed herself and we were home on and off for almost 2 years , I thanked God after the fact because I said father you knew what was coming and he knew I wouldn’t of been able to manage , that was the wisdom of God ..
Blessed day everyone
Sister Alanda. This is so powerful. Oh how God look out for us and direct our step.

Teachability:
The Heart That Listens, Learns, and Lives Wisely
When was a time you resisted correction but later saw God’s wisdom in it?
Not too long ago, I was faced with a situation, and by reading God’s God, He rebuked me for how I was going about it. (Which by the way was totally wrong). The sad thing is, I slighted the scripture verse by doing the same thing that had previously come to mind. As I lay the night, this scripture verse came to mind from Psalms 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go, I will counsel you with My eye upon you.
As I lay there, I felt so rebuke, I repented, asking God to forgive me for how I handled the situation without His help.
What I realize is this, God is all knowing, and because of that, He knows what our days look like, and His Holy Spirit is at work preventing us from falling into sin or hardships. If only we would obey His prompts.
I’m go grateful for this *Wisdom Tip* Listen deeply. Don’t avoid the truth by changing the subject.
Lord Help!!
Yes Sister Debbie if only we obey the prompts , it’s amazing how we get it amd we choose to disobey at times .. but thank god for his grace ..

Recently, I was waiting on someone to do some work on the house and felt impatient and began searching for someone else to do the job for me.
I began to take things up on myself and though the Holy Spirit said to Wait, I ignored it and began complaining and mummering, but eventually I had no choice but to wait.
Now that the person came, I realized that God had something better in store me. I repented, and asked God to forgive me because as Proverbs 3:5-6 says "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths" . This has been my focal scripture for a while but, some how I was not focused on it when I needed to do so the most.
Today I am thankful to God for His mercies and love towards me that he was able to come through for me once again in spite of my stubbornness.
God knows what's best for me and he have my best interest at heart.
I appreciate today's wisdom tip "Let correction refine, not define you."
I encourage all you today to Trust God totally, even when things seems like it is not going right.
Have a blessed day y'all!!

Temperament Transformational Tuesday
Key Verse:Proverbs 29:1
Theme: Teachability: The Heart That Listens, Learns, and Lives Wisely.
Not to long ago I was faced with a challenging situation and had to make a decision ,However what i choose to do was just based on how I was feelings and my emotional state . I did not consulted what the Lord 'S will was for me at the time .when things did not work out as planned . I was disappointed then and was reminded through the scriptures that I need to trust the LORD Sovereignty..The Lord reminded me that he cares about All the intricacies of my life .
I had to ,Pause ,and repent and pray for God's guidance to direct my life. As (Psalms 127:1 Pp Unless the Lord build the house we labour in vain ) we roll the dice but He determines how they fall
I was reminded that even when I feel certain ways about thing the the Word ,Wisdom& Holy Spirit, should always guide my decisions.( Work in progress)
I Like this wisdom Tip : let Wisdom Refine, not define .
As I have the tendency to take correction as Condemnation especially in a tone /place that make me feel uncomfortable .
SO dear Lord ,Please Please soften my heart, give me a teachable spirit
and steady my emotions when corrected .
May I be quick to accept and respond to the truth so that I can grow and be the woman that you have created me to be.Thank you for your word and and your patience with us .We also thank for the small steps we are making towards spiritual growth and transformation in Jesus Name Amen !🙏
