🩺 Week 17 — Q: Quickener
The Great Physician's Examination
Key Scripture
"But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our wrongdoings, made us alive together with Christ..."
Ephesians 2:4–5 (NASB) (or your preferred translation)
🩺 Come to the Great Physician
Dear Women of Wisdom,
Thank you for faithfully participating in last week's study on P — Provider.
As we gathered around The Father's Table, we were reminded that our Heavenly Father lovingly provides for every need according to His riches in glory. Many of you shared beautiful reflections, photographs, and voice notes that reminded us of His abundant goodness. Thank you for encouraging one another and for faithfully walking this journey together.
This week, we continue our A–Z Journey Through the Attributes of God as we explore Q — Quickener.
Today, the Great Physician invites you into His examination room.
- Not because He wants to condemn you.
- Not because He wants to point out your failures.
But because He loves you too much to leave you where you are.
The Great Physician always examines with compassion.
- He reveals so that He can restore.
- He uncovers so that He can heal.
- He breathes life into what has become weak, weary, or spiritually dry.
As you spend time with Him this week, allow Him to examine the condition of your heart.
Not to discourage you...
But to revive you.
🩺 Your Spiritual Vital Signs
Whenever we visit a doctor, one of the first things checked is our vital signs.
- Our breathing.
- Our pulse.
- Our temperature.
- Our blood pressure.
These measurements help reveal whether our bodies are healthy or whether something needs attention.
In much the same way, our spiritual lives have vital signs.
There are seasons when we may still be attending church, reading our Bibles, serving faithfully, and smiling outwardly—yet inwardly, something needs the Lord's renewing touch.
- Our prayer life may have become weak.
- Our hunger for God's Word may have faded.
- Our worship may have become routine.
- Our obedience may have slowed.
- Our love for others may have grown strained.
The wonderful news is this:
Our God is the Quickener.
- He is the One who gives life.
- He revives what has become weak.
- He restores what has grown weary.
- He breathes life into hearts that have become spiritually dry.
Today, allow the Great Physician to lovingly examine your spiritual vital signs.
Trust Him with what He reveals.
The One who examines your heart is also the One who can restore it.
🌿 Reflection Question
If the Great Physician examined my spiritual vital signs today, what area of my life would need His reviving touch?
Take a few quiet moments to reflect before continuing.
You may wish to write your thoughts in a journal.
Vital Signs
When a person is being cared for medically, one of the first things checked is their vital signs.
Their breathing is checked.
Their pulse is checked.
Their temperature is checked.
Their blood pressure is checked.
Why? Because vital signs help show whether there is life, strength, stability, or distress in the body.
A person may look fine outwardly, but the vital signs can reveal that something deeper needs attention.
In the same way, there are moments in our spiritual lives when we may still be showing up, still smiling, still serving, still attending, and still speaking the right words — but inwardly, something may need to be revived.
- Our prayer life may feel weak.
- Our hunger for the Word may feel low.
- Our worship may feel dry.
- Our obedience may feel delayed.
- Our love for others may feel strained.
This is why we need God as Quickener — the One who gives life, restores life, and revives what has become weak, dry, or dull.
God does not merely adjust our outward appearance. He touches the inward life.
He is the God who makes us alive.
Reflection Question

M — Meaning
God is Quickener, which means He is the One who gives life and makes alive.
In older English, the word quicken means to make alive or to give life. In the New Testament, the idea is seen in passages like Ephesians 2:5, where God made us alive together with Christ. The Greek thought carries the meaning of being made alive with Christ — life that comes from God, not from ourselves.
This means God does not merely make us look better on the outside. He gives spiritual life on the inside.
- He revives prayer that has become weak.
- He awakens hunger for His Word.
- He restores joy in worship.
- He strengthens obedience.
- He renews love for others.
- He breathes life into places we could not revive on our own.
God does not only see weak places; He can revive them. He does not only notice dry places; He can breathe life into them again.
Meaning Prompt:
What does God as Quickener teach you about the area of your life that needs to be revived?
Take time to think about your answer.
On your Combined Titus Team Chat, copy and paste or type:
“God is the One who makes alive, and I need His life in every part of me.”
