TEMPERAMENT TRANSFORMATON REFLECTION - JUNE 19 - PROVERBS 19

Today's Reading Proverbs 19

Dear Wisdom Seekers,

As we continue growing in the Word and allowing the Holy Spirit to transform our temperaments, we turn our attention to Proverbs 19—a chapter rich with practical wisdom about patience, planning, correction, discipline, and listening to advice.

This chapter highlights the difference between hasty, impulsive behaviour and Spirit-led wisdom. It reminds us that many are the plans in our hearts, but only God’s purpose prevails (v.21). Whether you tend to move too fast, speak too quickly, avoid action, or wrestle with perfectionism—Proverbs 19 gently guides us to slow down, listen, and live wisely.

πŸ“– Before You Begin:

Take a few quiet moments to prayerfully read all of Proverbs 19. Ask the Holy Spirit to highlight which verses speak directly to your temperament or current situation. Let the Word settle in your heart before you begin reflecting.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE RESPONDING

🌿 LEAN-IN Reflection – Proverbs 19

L – Look

  • I’m beginning to notice how often I act in haste, and verse 2 reminded me to pause more often.

  • Verse 20 showed me how I’ve become more open to godly advice instead of resisting it.

  • I’m learning to let go of small offenses, and verse 11 affirmed that this is wisdom taking root.

  • When I read verse 21, I felt peace—it’s getting easier to release my plans and trust God’s purpose.

  • πŸ–‹️ Or write your own: _________________________________

E – Examine

How is the Holy Spirit helping you see patterns that are being transformed?

  • I’ve been more aware of when irritation rises, and I’m catching myself before reacting harshly.

  • Instead of avoiding conflict, I’ve started addressing things gently but directly.

  • I’m less obsessed with getting everything perfect—I’m learning to move with grace, not pressure.

  • When I notice myself retreating in silence, I now try to speak up with love instead.

  • πŸ–‹️ Or write your own: _________________________________

A – Align

Where are your words or behaviours starting to align more with God’s truth?

  • I’m being more honest and less tempted to exaggerate to sound impressive.

  • I’ve been slowing down my speech so I can speak the truth in love, not in frustration.

  • When I feel tempted to stay quiet to avoid awkwardness, I ask God to help me be truthful anyway.

  • I’m beginning to realize that silence isn’t always wise—sometimes withholding the truth is also misleading.

  • πŸ–‹️ Or write your own: _________________________________

N – Name a Next Step

What small but specific next step is God calling you to take this week?

  • I need to finish a task I’ve been avoiding—it’s time to follow through.

  • There’s a conversation I’ve been dodging, and I believe God is asking me to speak in love.

  • My mornings need to begin with God again—starting tomorrow, I’ll give Him the first 15 minutes.

  • To grow in discipline, I’ll create small goals and ask a friend to keep me accountable.

  • πŸ–‹️ Or write your own: _________________________________

I – Invite

Invite the Holy Spirit into one specific area of your temperament this week.

  • Holy Spirit, I surrender my need to control outcomes—teach me how to rest in You.

  • I’ve grown too passive in some areas; I invite You to stir me to act when I’d rather delay.

  • Please transform my emotional reactions into calm, Christlike responses.

  • Free me from people-pleasing—I want to live anchored in Your truth, not others’ opinions.

  • πŸ–‹️ Or write your own: _________________________________

N – Note

Note one recent area of visible growth.

  • I’m seeing more patience in how I respond when things don’t go as planned.

  • Lately, I’ve paused more often to pray before reacting—and that’s growth for me.

  • The Lord is softening my pride and making room for humility in everyday moments.

  • For once, I’m finishing things I start—and I know that’s the Spirit strengthening me.

  • πŸ–‹️ Or write your own: ________________________________

June 11 - Proverbs 11 - Dear Wisdom Seekers!

Dear Wisdom Seekers,

As we continue our journey toward Christlike transformation, let us reflect on the treasures within Proverbs 11. This chapter paints a powerful picture of the kind of upright, humble, and wise living that the Holy Spirit produces in us when we yield to His leading. It contrasts the righteous and the wicked, the humble and the proud, the generous and the greedy—and it reminds us that character matters deeply in the eyes of God.

Each of you brings a unique temperament to this journey. And each temperament has strengths to steward and weaknesses to surrender. Let's take a closer look at what Proverbs 11 may be whispering to your heart.

πŸ”΄ To the Choleric Wisdom Seekers

"When pride comes, then comes dishonor, but with the humble is wisdom." – Proverbs 11:2 (NASB)

Dear Cholerics,
Your God-given drive and leadership are needed in the Kingdom. But beware of letting your confidence slip into pride or self-sufficiency. The Holy Spirit is inviting you to exchange control for surrender, dominance for discernment. Humility doesn't weaken your strength—it redeems it. Let God guide your ambition and purify your motives.

Ask yourself: What decision am I making right now that needs to be filtered through humility rather than personal will?

🟑 To the Sanguine Wisdom Seekers

"A gracious woman attains honor, and ruthless men attain riches." – Proverbs 11:16 (NASB)

Dear Sanguines,
Your enthusiasm and charm light up the room. But sometimes the craving for approval can cloud your discernment. God calls you to live with integrity, not just likability. The Holy Spirit wants to help you mature your joyful heart into gracious wisdom that lasts beyond the moment. Choose truth over flattery, even when it's hard.

Ask yourself: Am I seeking God’s applause, or people’s approval?

πŸ”΅ To the Melancholic Wisdom Seekers

"The integrity of the upright will guide them, but the perversity of the treacherous will destroy them." – Proverbs 11:3 (NASB)

Dear Melancholics,
Your deep thinking and moral compass are a gift to the Body of Christ. But the weight of idealism can become a burden if you don’t allow grace to balance truth. Don’t let fear of imperfection paralyze your progress. The Spirit wants to guide your heart gently, not harshly. Allow His integrity to lead—not just your analysis.

Ask yourself: Have I let fear of failure keep me from moving forward in faith?

🟒 To the Phlegmatic Wisdom Seekers

"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and the one who is wise gains souls." – Proverbs 11:30 (NASB)

Dear Phlegmatics,
Your peaceful, steady presence is a quiet strength. But comfort can become compromise if you avoid confrontation or hard decisions. God is stirring up a holy boldness in you—not to be loud, but to be faithfully present and fruit-bearing. The Holy Spirit wants to transform passive peace into active peacemaking. Step up, speak truth, and sow life.

Ask yourself: What “small” step of obedience have I delayed that could yield eternal fruit?

πŸ’  In Closing…
Proverbs 11 is not just a contrast between good and evil—it’s an invitation to become more like Jesus through the Word and the Spirit. As we meditate on this chapter, may each of us—regardless of temperament—surrender our natural tendencies to God's supernatural transforming power.

Let the Holy Spirit convict you where needed, comfort you where weary, and challenge you where you've become complacent. He is faithful to finish the work He started in you.

πŸ“ Let’s reflect together: What part of this letter resonated most deeply with you and why? How is God inviting you to grow through Proverbs 11 this week - share the verse or comment further?

πŸ’› Powered by the Word. Transformed by the Spirit.

A wonderful Wednesday to all!

Greetings and Howdy do!

πŸ‘ A Morning Conversation Among Sisters

This morning, five of our Wisdom Seekers sisters—Claudia, Laura, Hazel, Debbie, and Alynthia—gathered for coffee and conversation after last night’s study on Mark 12:31. What started as a recap turned into a Spirit-led reflection on Proverbs 10 and the power of walking in wisdom.

Claudia opened with a gentle thought:
“Mark 12:31 sounds so simple, but it cut deep when we discussed how temperament affects the way we love.”

The group nodded in agreement, especially as they recalled Tim LaHaye’s teaching that temperament is rooted in the natural man—not the spiritual one. That means we don’t get to excuse bad behavior as "just our temperament."

Laura, a Melancholic-Phlegmatic, added:
“I can’t excuse my silence or overthinking just because I’m Melancholic. I need to be Spirit-led.”

Hazel, the Melancholic-Sanguine blend, chimed in thoughtfully:
“My quiet reflection and outgoing side often clash—but real love isn’t about preference. It’s about obedience.”

Then came Debbie, our vibrant Sanguine-Choleric, who laughed but admitted with sincerity:

“I love people—but my Choleric edge? Whew! If I don’t pray over my words, I can bulldoze instead of bless.”

The group turned their hearts toward today’s chapter—Proverbs 10—which spoke volumes about how wisdom is shown through speech, diligence, integrity, and kindness.

πŸ’‘ Key Wisdom Moments from the Group:

πŸ”Ή “The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life…”
Claudia reflected on the power of words. She asked herself, “Am I speaking life, or just staying quiet and calling it wisdom?”

πŸ”Ή “In a multitude of words, sin is not lacking…”
Debbie felt that one deeply. “That verse was me. My temperament likes to talk—so I need extra discipline to be wise with words.”

πŸ”Ή “One who walks in integrity walks securely…”
Alynthia shared this verse reminded her that loving well starts with living right. “When my walk is secure, my love becomes sincere.”

πŸ”Ή “Blessings are on the head of the righteous…”
Laura connected this to the way wisdom protects and multiplies good in our relationships.

πŸ”Ή “The wise of heart will receive commands…”
Hazel added, “Humility is the foundation of wisdom. When we stay teachable, we stay transformable.”

✨ June 9 - Proverbs 9

Today’s Transformation Quote:

"Wisdom is knowing the right path to take.
Integrity is taking it."
M.H. McKee

🌿 Good day, dear Wisdom Seekers! 🌿

Today we enter into a powerful invitation from Proverbs 9 — a choice between Wisdom and Folly. Both call out, but only one leads to life.

πŸ“– Today's Proverbs Reading: Proverbs 9

Take time today to prayerfully read the full chapter of Proverbs 9. Notice how Wisdom invites with substance, truth, and life, while Folly offers empty promises that lead to destruction. Reflect on how this chapter calls you to make deliberate, daily choices for wisdom.

πŸ“š About Proverbs 9

Proverbs 9 beautifully contrasts two voices: Wisdom and Folly. Wisdom prepares a feast and calls all to partake, offering life and understanding. Folly is loud and seductive, drawing the naive toward ruin. The chapter reminds us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and it encourages us to walk carefully, choosing the path that leads to life.

πŸ” Key Theme for Transformation:

Transformation is not only about hearing wisdom — it’s about choosing it. Every day presents us with decisions: the way of life or the way of folly. Proverbs 9 reminds us that a wise heart listens, discerns, and follows God’s call.

Transformation Verse for Today:

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
Proverbs 9:10 (NASB)

πŸ‘ Today’s Interaction: Wisdom in Conversation

Hazel and Laura are two Wisdom Seekers chatting after reading Proverbs 9.

Hazel:
"Laura, what stood out to you most today in Proverbs 9?"

Laura:
"I was struck by how both Wisdom and Folly are calling out. It really made me think — whose voice am I tuning in to every day without even realizing it?"

Hazel:
"Exactly. And I love how Wisdom prepares a table — it’s full, rich, and satisfying. Folly offers nothing but emptiness."

Laura:
"Yes! Let’s tag a sister who hasn’t posted yet. I bet there’s someone just waiting for a gentle nudge."

Hazel:
"And it’s super simple to post on the blog — you can copy, paste, or type out your answers."

Laura:
"And for those who want to add a little extra, that’s great too. I already know who I’m tagging."

Hazel:
"Tell me!"

Laura:
"Check the blog later and see. I got to go, my ride is waiting!" πŸ˜€
