Day 7: Intercessory Prayer
for the Other Temperaments
π Thank You for Journeying Together
Dear Transforming Hearts,
Thank you for walking together this first week in July. Whether your steps were bold or quiet, fast or gentle, they mattered. You showed up. You reflected. You grew. And you gave space for God to speak deeply into your temperament and your transformation. Your responses yesterday were truly testimonies of how God is transforming each life. Stay the course!
As we close this first week, remember this is not the end—it’s the beginning of living more intentionally. Remain firm and consistent in what the Lord has started in you. When emotions shift, when schedules get hectic, or when old patterns try to resurface—stand your ground and return to truth.
π We encourage you to continue reading one chapter of Proverbs each day. Let wisdom guide your temperament. Let truth shape your tone. Let grace train your growth. Transformation isn’t an event—it’s a daily invitation.
Mark 12:31 reminds us of Jesus’ call:
ππ½ “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
This final day of week one invites you to do just that—by praying for others and asking God to help you love them as He does.
Let us now move from inward reflection to outward intercession.
ππ½ Instructions:
Today, take a moment to:
Pray for the other three temperaments
Pray for yourself, asking God to help you love them well
After praying, scroll all the way down to read the final note.
π―️ "Be devoted to one another in love. Honour one another above yourselves." —
Romans 12:10 (NET)
π΄ Choleric's Prayer for the Sanguine, Phlegmatic, and Melancholic:
For the Sanguine:
Lord, I lift up my expressive and joy-filled Sanguine brothers and sisters. Thank You for the light they bring into the room. Help them not only to rejoice but to be rooted. Remind them that deep joy is found not in moments, but in You. Teach them to pause and reflect before they speak, and to hear Your voice in the stillness. Fill them with wisdom and endurance so their fire never burns out.
“The joy of the Lord is your strength.” —Nehemiah 8:10
For the Phlegmatic:
Father, I intercede for the gentle and steady Phlegmatics. Thank You for the peace they bring to others. Awaken any part of their spirit that has grown sleepy or passive. Stir them with purpose. Help them rise in boldness when needed and not fear conflict when it serves Your truth. Let their calm be courageous and their peace be powerful.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid… for the Lord your God is with you.” —Joshua 1:9
For the Melancholic:
God, I lift up the thoughtful and deep-hearted Melancholics. Thank You for the beauty of their introspection and conviction. But Lord, may they not get lost in the weight of their thoughts. Replace perfectionism with peace. Help them walk in grace, knowing that You are completing the good work in them. May they release anxiety and receive mercy each morning with joy.
“He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 1:6
π‘ Sanguine's Prayer for the Choleric, Phlegmatic, and Melancholic:
For the Choleric:
Lord, I pray for the bold, visionary Cholerics. Thank You for their strength and their drive. Remind them today that surrender is not weakness—it’s the way of true strength. Teach them to be still. Help them to wait for Your timing and lead with humility. Let their leadership reflect Jesus.
“Be still and know that I am God.” —Psalm 46:10
For the Phlegmatic:
Father, thank You for the calming presence of the Phlegmatics. Stir them where they’ve settled into comfort. Rekindle their gifts and remind them that peace doesn’t mean passivity. Give them boldness in the quiet, fire in their soul, and clarity in their calling.
“Rekindle the gift of God within you.” —2 Timothy 1:6
For the Melancholic:
Jesus, I pray for the deeply feeling and thoughtful Melancholics. Let Your truth guard their minds. Heal the inner criticism and replace it with compassion. May they feel seen, loved, and carried by You. Remind them daily: they are enough because You are with them.
“Take every thought captive to make it obey Christ.” —2 Corinthians 10:5
π’ Phlegmatic's Prayer for the Choleric, Sanguine, and Melancholic:
For the Choleric:
Father, thank You for the strength and leadership of the Cholerics. Help them to lay down control and be led by the Spirit. May their strength be softened by Your presence and their decisions flow from prayer, not pressure. Use their confidence to build others up, not just move things forward.
“Those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength.” —Isaiah 40:31
For the Sanguine:
Lord, I pray for the joyful Sanguines. Help them to find joy in stillness, depth in devotion, and consistency in truth. Let their voice bring life, but also teach them when to listen. May their joy be anchored in You.
“He is like a tree planted by flowing streams…” —Psalm 1:3
For the Melancholic:
God, thank You for the hearts of Melancholics. Give them grace for their own process. When they spiral, lift them. When they are weary, hold them. Teach them to walk by faith and not by what they see. Fill their minds with hope.
“Your mercies are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” —Lamentations 3:23
π΅Melancholic's Prayer for the Choleric, Sanguine, and Phlegmatic:
For the Choleric:
Jesus, I lift up the strong and focused Cholerics. Help them to rest. To trust. To listen. Let them know that their value is not in what they do, but in who they are in You. Teach them to lead with love and not just results.
“In humility, treat others as more important than yourself.” —Philippians 2:3
For the Sanguine:
Father, thank You for the warmth and excitement the Sanguines bring. Help them to develop rooted joy—joy that stays, not just sparks. Show them the beauty of discipline, and bless their words to build and not distract.
“Be quick to listen, slow to speak.” —James 1:19
For the Phlegmatic:
Lord, I pray for the peace-loving Phlegmatics. Let their calm become courage. Help them rise when it’s easier to retreat. Awaken the gifts they’ve tucked away. Remind them their voice matters.
“Do not lag in zeal, be enthusiastic in spirit, serve the Lord.” —Romans 12:11
